Walter Schiavone, of the second son of the boss «Sandokan» become a pentito and doubts about his reliability.

In the footsteps of his brother Nicola also the second son of the boss of the Casalesi clan would have decided to collaborate with justice

Following in the footsteps of his elder brother Nicola, Walter Schiavone, second son of the Casalese boss (sentence to life) Francesco "Sandokan" Schiavone, would also have decided to collaborate with the justice system.
The circumstance emerged yesterday during the preliminary hearing relating to a proceeding on the dairy product racket managed by the Casalese Camorra, in which the young Schiavone is among the suspects.
The magistrates of the Naples Anti-Mafia District Directorate have already met him twice, and therefore began to verbalize his statements.

The collaboration, however, is still in its initial stages, and the repentant's reliability can only be assessed after the investigative, and possibly even procedural, findings of what Sandokan's son will tell the magistrates. Therefore at the moment the investigators remain very cautious.
Already the collaboration of Nicola Schiavone did not prove to be the highest level of reliability. From him, who certainly held more important roles in the clan than his brother, the Prosecutor's Office expected revelations that would fully shed light especially on relations between the Camorra and politics, and instead Nicola Schiavone was not believed precisely on this point.
In particular on the alleged death sentence decided by the Casalesi for the former Forza Italia parliamentarian Nicola Cosentino, a circumstance that according to the defense of Cosentino - in the trial in which the latter was accused of having piloted contracts in favor of companies linked to the clans for the collection of waste in the Caserta area - showed how the former deputy was not faithful to the Casalesi. But the court, in condemning Cosentino, did not consider Nicola Schiavone's statements credible.
All this therefore leads to further prudence also in the face of the collaboration initiated by Walter. Especially since the Schiavone family itself has long been very cautious in entrusting him with roles of responsibility within the organization. He has always been deemed too impulsive to manage millionaire deals such as those of the clan. Ever since, still a minor, at a high school party he found himself involved in a fight that ended in murder. It was Nicola who literally pulled him out of that situation, taking him away from the club before the police arrived.
As an adult Walter Schiavone only rose to the top of the clan when his older brother ended up in prison. He himself, in the past, admitted to having held leadership roles between 2013 and 2014, but many investigations place him in important positions as early as 2010.

After Nicola Schiavone's collaboration, Walter too, like other members of the family, entered the protection program for the relatives of collaborators of justice. Last June, then, he was arrested as part of the investigation into the mozzarella racket, and in the following months the decision to declare himself ready to collaborate with the magistrates.

Some of their most ruthless killers have become turncoats like Giuseppe Setola and Domenico Bidognetti. Ofcourse they say they were acting on orders from the bosses, but to make a deal with such people is pretty bizar.

The Italian State made a deal with Buscetta that was a killer and an international drug trafficker but with the collaborators of justice is very hard to weak a well structured clan like the Casalesi clan. It's a necessary evil.

I feel in Italy though, the people who collaborate are something special. Not the normal rat pieces of shit you get all over the criminal world. Like some real heavy rats and from the little I read its the only way for the state to build a case

In Italy oc organizations have more power and control on territory that led to a control on politicians and bussiness men.
For example the Casalesi clan despite control more lucrative rackets continue to infiltrate the distribution of the mozzarella!
Before Carmine Schiavone defetion the LE know very little about the Terra dei Fuochi (Land of Fires) and how the Casalesi illegally disposed of the wastes from the factories in the North.
In Italy is more hard to investigate and risk your life everyday.
The US Mafia is nothing compared to Italian OC groups.

The State itself is evil, let's just keep it real. And Jimmybrown even in America the State is nothing without their rats.
