Placing your hands on a made guy

Placing your hands on a made guy - 09/13/21 11:57 PM

Besides Tommy DeSimone, Rosemary and Tommy Uva, and Paulie Gulino, were there any examples of where outsiders were killed off because they "placed their hands" or assaulted a made guy?

The Uva's were robbing mob clubs and card games, I don't think they ever put their hands on anyone. The did point a lot of guns at people, mostly customers in card games. DeSimone killed a made guy, although that story is disputed at items. I am sure a lot of people over the years did get killed for hitting a made guy.

There was a story with Jerry Angiulo in Boston. He was sucker punched by a black guy in Walpole. The guys bail was mysteriously met. Soon thereafter he was never heard from again. I think Howie Carr wrote about that. Not sure how accurate it is.

Side Tidbit: An interesting side tidbit is that the two young hoodlums tortured and killed in 1951 (Menditto and Garofalo), had actually had the audacity and sheer stupidity to raise their hands to Mimi …a made guy…and shove his head into a toilet bowl flushing it…. any wonder why they got their “buckwheats”?

Mimi Scalo and another man did kill them, but the toilet flush is made up as is the torture part. Scalo had an argument with he two, and it turned into a fight. He later went after them with his partner and killed them shortly after the fight. It is unkown if he had an ok, but I sure his bosses would have given it. I think the question originally posed about putting your hands on made guy was meant regarding one member to another. Al D'arco claimed him and a friend hit and shoved Benny Mangano around before D'arco was made. I think if that were true, D'arco would have been dead shortly after if they he not go into hiding.

I have no idea if D'arco hit Mangano or not, but I would bet a lot of money he didn't if it could be proven one way or the other. No way I buy it

One of the Westies was clipped for either swinging at or threatening a capo. Details are fuzzy but there is a YouTube vid of an ex member telling the story, but without names to go on it’d be pot luck to find it

What about the Albanians caused problems for Gambino (?) family in late 1990s and early 2000s? I think they beat a made guy and dropped him on the street if my memory serves me correct.

They rudaj organization tried to take the place of some greeks that was running a gambling ring under Gambino and Lucchese protection, zeke squitieri went to a meeting to a gas station with 20 made men for kill rudaj but him said to gambinos that if they would shot him the gas station would blown and both of them would die.

In prison an old inmate was beaten and stripped in prison (dont remember if is an italian or under mob protection) and the Italians violently attacked the Albanians in retaliation. That was in Dambury.

No way a lowly scrub Lucchese associate pushed around a Genovese legend like Benny Eggs without retaliation, no way!

Do know the what the beef between Italians and Albanians is about? I met a guy from Bari and he didn’t like Albanians at all? Not just specifically the one you’re explaining?

I think many mob followers agree with you Dilly, I do too. No one seemed to believe it when he made the claim in his book. There is also doubt about the friend he spoke of even existing. Some have said it was a compilation of people, others tat the man did not exist. Knocking Benny Eggs around in his own place without retaliation was silly of D'arco to claim, and for Capeci to put in the book.
