Thoughts on Jabril Abdalla? (Ontario mob war) - 09/13/21 02:10 PM

This whole thing bugs me...

Jabril Abdalla was the driver on the hits on Angelo Musitano and Saverio Serrano. The latter turned into a tragic mess when Saverio’s innocent girlfriend Mila Barberi was killed while Saverio managed to escape.

After roughly 4 years in prison Abdalla was released for time served. The Crown found him not guilty of being an active part of the conspiracy but just an involuntary associate in the murders. Mila's family is obviously devastated.

More background info:
- for Abdalla’s case: "I was the fall guy..."
- for the Barberis’ reaction: "Slap in the face!"

Now, my take:

Abdalla's defense made him look like a real-life Jaime Foxx from the movie “Collateral”: a naïve cabbie unknowingly driving an assassin around town.

I'm having a hard time believing that Jabril was completely kept in the dark about what was going on.
He drove these guys around for months, buying trackers, doing stakeouts, but, supposedly, he never once asked what was happening and was never told what they were up to?

Tomassetti and Cudmore were anything but professional hitmen. Talkative and boorish, they were the typical suburban mob wannabes. I'm supposed to buy that neither one of them let out what was their ultimate goal?

He's neither an angel or an outsider: a self-admitted coke dealer, grew up in Hamilton, was a childhood friend and very close to the main conspirator, Tomassetti. Even in the unlikely event that he wasn’t told a thing I’m sure he could have figured it out by himself.

There’s the possibility that Abdalla was truly nothing more than a self-absorbed jerk that never bothered to think about what was happening. Or just way too stupid to understand what was really going on. That said, part of me frames him as a smart-ass hustler who successfully played dumb to shelter himself from the responsibilities of his actions.

What are your thoughts on this?

Maybe Abdalla is a master crook, but the guy is some half Somali that was a virgin until he decide that he wanted to play gangster along side a bunch of biker/cops that order certain Italians around. IMO that’s why these guys were so sloppy and why this guy gets off lightly, because they are all copped up, working with a bunch of monkeys traditional and the white trash kind.

Abdalla was not the driver on the hits.

From the statement of facts in the case:

"Abdalla in no way had direct involvement in those murders,” says a statement of facts presented by the prosecution and accepted by a judge. “He was not on scene when they were committed nor was he aware of their planning or execution. Some of the steps taken by Abdalla ultimately served to assist the organization in its purpose to commit murder, however Abdalla had no knowledge that his actions were related to murder or any other violent crime.” (excerpt from https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/jabril-abdalla-the-fall-guy).

Thanks Molochio for your intel.

I should have specified that he allegedly wasn’t present when the hits occurred. Still, he was very close to the main conspirators for an extensive period of time and did hang out with them daily. I remain skeptical about his complete innocence and reported ignorance about the whole thing.

In Europe and Italia, people see this through different eyes. I’m pretty sure this is why CeCe Luppino cousins from Reggio, have been heard on wiretap, investigating what happened to their blood.
