I see this guy on the Bobby Luisi podcast, was he a made member?

Can't see much about apart from he had a murder conviction overturned.

Bobby claims he was a made member of Luisi's Boston Based Crew of the Philly Mob. I have no reason to see why he would lie about it

What exactly happened with the induction of Luisi's guys ? It seems that Merlino inducted a whole crew at once.

I guess he wanted to plant the flag in Boston but did it create any beef with the Patriarcas ?

Luis new George form being locked up, Joey would take money from a child-molestor and it was another avenue for cash flow so he made Bobby and allowed him to build a crew since Boston was all messed up at the time they couldn't really stop it

Whatever that sham crew was, it seems like Vetere is the only one still linked to Philly. He was seen on video down there within the past couple of years.

From my understanding the only people that were made in that crew were Bobby Luisi,Shawn Vertre, Bobby Guarrente

Paul Tanso and another guy killed a man in 1986 but Tanso was acquitted.
Malavita,I thinked the same thing and maybe the Patriarcas was so weak in the 1990s that Philly can put a flag in Boston or was paying them a share of crew cash.

After realising he wouldn't get inducted into the Patriarca family, Luisi was somehow put in contact with the Gambinos, though acting boss Peter Gotti turned him down. He was then put in touch with Ralph Natale through Frank Rossi, a mutual acquaintance who had been in prison with Natale. Luisi met with Natale twice in Cherry Hill, then he was introduced to Borgesi, then Merlino. As a Philly associate, he was with Borgesi. At that time Natale was the boss, Merlino the underboss and Borgesi a captain.

After Natale was arrested, Merlino inducted Luisi in Philadelphia in fall 1998. Luisi and Borgesi then went up to Boston to make his crew (he has said this was done over a few ceremonies). Those he has mentioned publicly as made members of his crew are Tanso, Robert Gentile, Shawn Vetere, Thomas Caruso, and Paul Pepicelli. He has also said that he left Pepicelli as the acting captain of the crew whenever he had to go down to Philadelphia. Some posters on the other forum also got confirmation from Luisi that David Pepicelli and Robert Paleo were made guys in his crew.

He wanted to induct Robert Guarente too but never got around to it. He also wanted to induct a guy called Bobby DeMarco from Springfield who was with the Puglianos (he opted instead to stay with the Puglianos). DeMarco had also been in prison with Natale and he knew Guarente.

Peter Caprio testified that Merlino told him to reach out to the Genovese family for permission to make the Boston guys. The Genovese family said no, but Merlino went ahead with the plan to make them anyway.

Bobby Luisi jr choose to be made in philly mob because his father and his brother was killed in 1995 together with other 3 men by another patriarca associates that had a feud with the Luisis.
He serched the protection of Philly mob.

All due respect Furio, I don't think this is accurate. The 99 Massacre didn't have much to do with Bobby Luisi going to Philly. He was not highly thought of by the Patriarca administration and he figured out that he would never be made in Boston. That is what drove him to Philly. The 99 shootings was apart from that.

I dont think it,Luisi feared to be whacked like his father and brother and went to philly because the Patriarcas doesnt want to made him but Merlino wanted to put his flag on Boston,is like Scarfo jr fled to NJ under the Lucchese wing.

Furio with all due respect you could not be anymore wrong . Luisi senior was killed by a man who was protecting his child its that simple . That killing was not at all a mob related hit .

Not by the wiseguys or anyone really. He was a drug dealer and that’s about it
Not the big wise guy he claims to be . But again I could be wrong on that one

Not sanctioned at all Furio, just a Dad who lost his cool and dropped the hammer on the entire table at lunchtime in broad daylight. Two off duty cops sitting nearby. Roman Luisi had been acquitted of murdering two nightclub patrons in LA about a year before.

keep in mind Luisi reached out go the Gambino’s first but pete gotti wanted no part of it.
Had Philly said no, I think Luisi would of approached the Denver family.

Luisi Sr was shaking down everyone in the neighborhood at that time even young kids who were just moving pot
He kept leaning on the wrong kid . Rumor has it Cleo warned him a couple times to stay away from him son. His shot them in front of a off duty cop and a priest 2 people who we’re definitely not going to lie on the witness stand
