Cleveland Family - 05/19/21 05:42 PM

I understand the family is basically extinct from reading posts on here about the family (i have no direct knowledge about Cleveland) but one thing I'm confused about is did the family die our simply because they refused to make new members? Or because Leonardo turned informer? Or the war with the Irish? It seems to me if all they had to do was make new members and the family would have made money and still exist it would have been done. If it was a shortage of Italians to choose from why not use the Genovese or Gambino connection and have them provide bodies? Has that ever been done? Just thinking out loud.

The Cleveland Family at one time had influence and power facilitated by means of the Teamsters
And the Local Unions in Northeast Ohio.
And of course the Cleveland Family had it hands in the Vegas cookie jars.
But once the Teamsters cleaned up its own backyard and the Vegas became mob free
The Cleveland Family started to wither and its influence went poof.

Cleveland did not have a war with the Irish. Danny Greenes crew was a mish mosh of different
Races etc etc.

Another reason why the Cleveland family evaporated was simply there was no "farm system"
To.replenish the aging members when they died.
Joe Iaccobacci was the last boss if you can call him.that but he retired as boss years ago.
He died of natural causes in 2019.
Tony Liberatore died in 1998 of Alzhemiers. His son Dominic was never in the life.
Eugene Ciasullo died in 2016...his surviving sons were never groomed to be goodfellas

There simply isnt enough money in Cleveland to be made even if someone tried to
To resurrect the family. Shylocking died when Leo Moceri died and when Butchie Cisternino went
Away. The drug trade in Cleveland has had the Mexicans trying to create pipelines
From the Southwest.
Ironically the last time I heard any kind of resemblance of OC in Cleveland had Eastern Euro ties
To a Croatian Credit Union getting worked over by some heavy hitters from Macedonia

Definitely was disbanded by both choose of not made new blood and high level rats.John Scalish that becomed boss in 1944 never made anyone so when died in 1976 there was 60 made men most of which are old,the war with Greene killed other valid soldiers and the flipping of Carmen Zagaria that was running a 15 milion a year drug ring and Lonardo that was in his 70s and doesnt want to get 50 y for drug trafficking put another nail on the coffin.

The family died also because the criminals with italian surnames in Cleveland understood that to make money isnt necessary a LCN family and that will have more light sentences if the LE can use the LCN for use the RICO.

The family was brought back to life by Joe Loose in the 80's
Gangster Report has a few good articles.

Supposedly there are still guys active not many that are just loan sharking, taking bets and dealing drugs...

Mainly old timers.

Joe Loose supposedly retired in the 2000's.

I thought Carmine Agnello had to get permission to open up his scrap yard out there from whoever was running the show down their.

I thought I read that somewhere.

Agnello never had to.get permission from anyone. Cause there is
No one. Joe Loose was retired by the time Agnello bought
Out Eagle Auto Scrap Yard. And Russell Pappalardo is a retired
Old timer who.had a role in the Nardi bombing.

In fact if Agnello wanted he could tell the Genoveses I want to run
CLEVELAND and they would say be our guest.

I think I read that in a Gangster Report article.

Herr is the one from last month that states there are old timers still active taking bets, loaning money etc...

In my eyes Scott is a very credible source.

From what I've been told, I'll take whatever Galassi has to say about Cleveland before any Ganger Report article.
Galassi really does know Cleveland.
