Mob associate/fraudster "Solly the Fox" Richman

In keeping with my promise to begin highlighting lesser known but important Jewish mob figures is Solomon Richman.

Better known in the New York underworld as "Solly the Fox" he was a low-key but shrewd hoodlum closely allied to another quiet and important soldier in Joe Colombo's Family.

Working in tandem, these two men would quietly earn many millions together during careers that spanned over thirty years...and the best part of it all? They were the racketeers you never heard of!

I plan to highlight guys who in many ways were essentially the backbone for many of these crews.

While the more high-profiled "cowboy" type-street guys were out there getting pinched, getting their pictures in the newspapers, and earning chump change doing it, guys like these two were quietly earning millions for themselves and their associates....and did so for decades without seeing the inside of a prison cell.

I believe these type of guys show the 'flip side' of the Cosa Nostra coin in that they largely operated under the radar for decades, earned a lot of money, and weren't in the newspapers every week.

Cosa Nostra isn't all guns and murder, or for that matter bookmaking and narcotics.

Many were 'finesse' guys who brought in streams of revenue for their borgatas
