Why should retire? He's the youngest of the bosses on the streets,he live in Florida while his friends make all the things and risk the jail when he's enjoying the money in the sunny Florida.

Not sure but what a chopping block that news would be to new boss ..

George, he's dumb enough to want the job and LCN has been his life's work. he has tons of connections from his time inside and other bosses would easily endorse him. Sonny would either be Consig and Dom UB

Instead of Merlino, Uncle Joe should have run the Philly brugad.

That’s why he’s perfect, old and old school and can let Stevie Mazzone or George Borgesi handle the day to day, he deserves it more than anyone, did 30 years and is for real

I did not know how to show a you tube clip.. john elite talks very highly of joe merlino. and elite said he does not like gangsters he thinks thier fakes liars and sissys. He claimed to turn down a hit from a ny family to kill joe merlino... i cant believe i just forgot the family name or the guy joey had disagreement with.. joey was selling trees on oregon ave.. but elite said he ran a company for the ny guys. but elite thought joey was a fair guy and very true to his friends. so he could not do the hit and he was never in the life or a mob guy. he just owned two night clubs. he has a home in vorhees nj he said was 10million wow... i thought he was mostly honest. he said he would fight any where and fought a lot in prison for guys getting outnumbered. he didnt seem like a gangster just owned some night clubs and small parking garage.. i thought that date was about a week ago.. i am so sorry i cannot find a way to post elites interview from you tube..

Some inaccuracies in that video, they had Nicodemo's photo for Johnny Gongs. They didn't mention Dutchie Avicoli who was whacked for sleeping with Mazzone's wife, Gino Marconi (whacked by the Boston group), and Anthony Turra

Maybe they've learned to shield the position from the Genovese family and we may never know if Merlino leaves for one reason or another

He don’t want to die in prison bro. I was around some of those guys back when he was full force and the way he ran shit he deserves to ride off into the sunset if that’s what he wants to do.

Nevermind I thought you were talking about uncle Joe. Hanging out with some Tito’s on the rocks and reading shit wrong.

I heard this before. but if he really was a secret informant.. wouldn't merlino mazzone an borgessi already be in jail for life? the schuylkill expressway way shooting, the veasy killing, ducci avocoli , ron turchi and cassano. and maybe 3 more killings, also probably the drug business.. now you would think mike lance probably was there for at least one of them and know other stuff. i am no fan of these guys . that is my basic 2cents...

Informants 99% of the time dont surface and testify and they were tried for those crimes like the Billy Veasey hit and the shooting on the freeway and got a not proven verdict....
