WILLIE BOY JOHNSON/ GOTTI - 11/21/20 05:59 PM

Rereading Blums Gangland book after 20 odd years.

Why did WBJ stay in the area after it came out in the Giacolone/ Bergin crew case that he'd been a grass / rat for many years?

I read that Gotti swore on his dead kids grave(?) that WBJ was getting a pass but he couldn't be with them anymore.
Find it hard to believe that WBJ could be that trusting. Especially, when the alternative was death? (Was is it Pitera who shot him?).

Can you imagine how WBJ felt when Giacolone exposed him , at the bail hearing.
Whilst sitting with his co accused.

Willie Boy wasn’t too bright. Thinking about it pretty much all of the Bergin Crew were morons 😂. My only guess is that Willie felt that Gotti wouldn’t risk bringing heat on himself by going after Willie. That’s why Gotti waited a couple years and he used The Bonannos to kill him. He used a similar strategy in regards to Favara

In his mind, he probably thought because he done them
A favour by refusing to testify and ‘stand tall’ it would wipe the slate clean. Stupidity at it’s highest. Plus, it’s very hard to just take off

It’s not like in the movies, unless u had a lot of money and connections.

Johnson and Gotti were very close. Johnson truly believed Gotti would give him a pass.

They put him to sleep. And because he was far from a brain surgeon, he let them

That's exactly why he didn't run
