Fallen Cosa Nostra soldiers, the Tommy Ocera story - 11/13/20 09:56 AM

Many a good Cosa Nostra soldier have gotten clipped for less than honorable reasons over the years. The bosses want fellow members to believe that it was because the guy was a rat, had robbed the borgata, or was disloyal in one way or another. But more often than not its all a phony ruse to try and justify and cover up the real reason for the killing. And more often than not, that real reason is indeed a dishonorable one...this is one such story! Visit our website to read all about him.

Today is the day of his death, and several people (family members included) asked us to honor Tommy with his biography. So, in keeping with those wishes we did.

As great as the stories on The New York Mafia site are, this one is my favorite. Great job, and real nice of you to remember Tommy on that date. He was an amazing man!

Yes, I'm very glad you saw and said that. Wiseguys, knockaround guys, most of them are very complex people. Just like you and I, they are multi-faceted. Some are hoods to the bone. For some, it's just a job, and just what they do for a living.

Some are great fathers, husbands and friends. Some are pieces of shit. Some are honorable, some are backstabbing degenerates.

There is no one way to put the handle on the pot so to speak.

Life is life, and it can be very complex sometimes.

What a brutal way to die, and for no good reason.

He had a brutal death, unfortunately. And yes, his death could and should have been avoided..... but he's not alone. Theres been many over the years. Jealousy, envy, a perceived slight, a mistaken label that the guys a rat, etc etc.

IMO, in that life, unless your a rat, unless you're fucking a good fellas wife or daughter, unless you hurt another "friend" or his family member..... everything else can, and should be worked out!

Talk to the guy. admonish him. fine him. break him, shelve him..... banish him! But don't kill em!

But there are a lot of knuckleheads out there, who can't think straight. Or wanna show what tough guys they are.... and are heartless. And sometimes this is the result.

I've heard this also pmac, but I can't find anymore info about a beef between them. It's similar to Gotti's beef with Corky Vastola although I've seen more about the Gotti Vastola beef originating in the MCC.
