The hood who really groomed Gotti as a kid - 11/11/20 06:21 PM

Aniello Dellacroce is widely regarded as having been John Gotti’s mentor. But his true mentor was a little known, largely underrated East New York based mafia soldier who really groomed Gotti since he was a kid.

This man was a hooligan through and through. A mafioso so devoted to his craft that he raked up nearly three dozen arrests on a yellow sheet over ten pages long.

Yeah the Fatico brothers were earlier mentors before Neil. I don’t know exactly when Gotti Met Neil but it was after hooking up with the Bergin crew

Thank you Lenox

He's another guy not much was ever written about. That's why I do those type of guys, to try and keep things fresh instead of the same old half dozen names that everyone constantly reads about

Great write-up NYMafia. Didn't know Danny lived until 2006!

I believe Danny Fatico was Gotti’s late son Frank’s godfather. Not a 100 percent certain but i think so

yep, but in his later years he was retired. Carmine had already died and Danny was an old man.

Hey, if you think about it, Danny died with his shoes off in 2006. Gotti died in prison in 2002. So the teacher outlived the student.

@NYMafia would love to eventually see a future story on Paolo Gambino.

Also on the Valachi chart for the Gambino family, I noticed that they used Bonanno underboss Giovanni Bonventre's mugshot for capo Joe Traina:
