Caporegima - Joe Sica - 11/08/20 08:51 PM

Another very sharp old-timer affiliated with the Pittsburgh crew was Giuseppe (Joe) Sica. A low-keyed, dedicated mafioso for over half a century, Joe Sica helped boss John La Rocca oversee sections of the city for Cosa Nostra.

As a teenager I would go to Waterford Park with my Mom and Dad. In addition to both of my parents lovin' the track they were also good friends with Joan and Jim Edwards. Jim owned Waterford park. Dad always had a prime table and there was always an open seat. One evening some fellow came by and asked my Dad if he could sit with us. Of course my Dad said sure and before he sat down I stood up and offered my hand. Dad introduced me to Mr. Sica. He insisted that I call him Joe. He even picked up the tab. He had quite a roll of $100.s
