What year was Philip Rastelli on the streets?? I compare him to Carmine Persico as a ineffective boss; but they both has a 2-3 year period on the streets as boss.

My question is;

Do anyone know when Rastelli was out on parole; and what was his reign like on his 2-3 years on the streets?? Was he holding meetings; etc?

Did Corallo; Persico; Castellano; Gigante/Salerno respect him?

Basically he was out all 1984. Sales vitale said he would meet him in a park in brooklyn Vitale also says hes inducted in 84. Dont think rusty was there. He was on parole so he probaly had to sneak around. I read he had a meeting with the zips and they walked out on him so he had him killed. Caesar something

There are several theories as to why Bonventre was killed, one was that he was a prolific ransom kidnapper and that besides drug dealing didn't sit well with Rastelli.
As for Rastelli he was a terrible boss, it takes a while just to count the number of his own captains he ordered killed. It also seems Massino heavily manipulated him over the years for his own agenda.

Caesar Bonventre was killed because he and Baldo Amato were shaking down drug dealers and one of them happened to be Anthony Aiello, who was with Rastelli. Rastelli then called Bonventre and Giovanni Ligammari to a meeting over it. Bonventre denied that he had taken kilograms of heroin from Aiello and stormed out, with the disrespect of walking out on the boss ultimately being what got him killed. Massino testified that Rastelli wanted to kill Amato as well but he got a pass because he was just doing what his captain (Bonventre) told him

I thought CB was killed because he was cutting the Sicilians heroin to crap and passing it on.
Although the walking out on Rastelli, sounds plausible
