He became a near legend within the NYC underworld because of his long tenure as a top mafioso.

Enjoy!

Nice pick, NYMafia. A fascinating character and a real old school, enterprising Mafioso. The guessing game was really fun. Thanks for a welcome diversion, and a great Bio.

I have never heard of him, its funny because I could almost feel like I've known about most of the major guys but I am always fascinated by these "sleepers" that NYmafia presents in a proper perspective. These are the guys that make up CN, not just the Bosses and known guys. Looking forward to the read, I'm sure its insightful (P.s. Can we get some guys from Brooklyn? And I'm not talking about Profaci/Colombos either lol )

Thanks Lou, thats why I choose him. Although he was so very active for so many decades, his name still managed to avoid the public limelight. But he was a powerhouse in his own right, as was clearly shown by his high position for so many years. At one point controlling a Bronx/Westchester regime, as well as overseeing another Connecticut based offshoot crew.

Glad you enjoyed my little guessing game too. Figured I'd mix it up a bit for us.

I wholeheartedly agree with you Don Pep. These are the true guys who form the backbone of Cosa Nostra. The most publicly known guys and bosses, although important, make up just a pimple on an Elephants ass in the full scheme of the Italian underworld. I thoroughly enjoy researching and then writing about these "sleepers" as you so aptly put it. I'm glad you enjoy them.

And yes, I promise to do some Brooklyn guys in the near future. But first I have a whole bunch of things for you guys in the meantime. So besides and including Brooklyn, I have a few surprises in the direction we're gonna go in soon.

I think you're gonna like it. (I hope so anyway) Lol

I read maybe was in scarpas files or merry ferrel. Buster was acting consig sometime in either late 60tys or 70tys. Probaly only acting. He was recorded by that lawyer peluso saying he was inducted in 1958. His quote before they let all the rats in 1974. Capeci wrote some great articles on buster around 2005n06 . They hunt for the bugs. Where every where he was going had bugs under the tables at all his restaurants were he dined daily. He accedntly found one of the fbi bugs under a table it fell on his leg or something. Then he found some more. His friend the lawyer was recording him. He had the big beef with the luchese family over the table at Raos. Barney was recording on phone saying leave me the fuck out of this shit in prison. There alot of article on him from that time period. He was recorded saying everything in Connecticut is mine. He was close to that capo patsy Parello to. It sounded like they had a joint loanshark book or something
