Committing a Murder

I've heard guys like John Alite and Gene Borrello claim that not all gangsters and/or street guys are capable of committing a murder. I do agree with them. I think people in general are capable to kill someone if they are defending themselves or their family but to actively look to murder someone is not easy for everyone. Do you agree? And do you think a guy like Peter Gotti or other wiseguys who hasn't commited a murder is capable of it if he was giving an order to do it? Let's talk about it. Share your opinions.

The Mafia as a secret society need more of capable men able to run white collar rackets that a men that stone cold killers.For sure there are mobsters that can do both things but are few in this days.

Youngsters here are ruthless it doesn't take much to become a killer just for a few thousand euros. Life is cheap in the underworld.

A common myth about the Mafia is that you can't be inducted unless you've killed someone on the Family's orders. Not true. There's no such "rule." Dons, as absolute monarchs, can "make" anyone they want as long as they're of Italian lineage.

They need both, look at the 'ndrangheta they have polticians,bank managers, lawyers, but also a military wing.

You can pay a military wing without people that make money its the same story like NCO that had thousands of killers but lost the war because in 1983 doesnt have the money to pay them.

In a "civilized" country like the USA the mafia can't rely on the military that's a no-no. They had to have earners and killers, preferably guys who were both. You can't control people without violence or threat of violence and without a ruthless reputation, forget it, nobody's gonna fear the mob and thus the money flow would be less than what it potentially could be - much more.
