Newark, Trenton and Camden - 08/14/20 03:24 PM

The history of those three cities is pretty fascinating. I'm curious to know if anyone knows who actually ran those cities at the peak time. Newark I'm familiar with, Trenton and Camden not so much so any input? Thanks

Trenton, was Gambino, Philadelphia and Profaci had the most pull.
Camden was Genovese and Philadelphia had the most pull.

Camden was close in proximity and always under Philadelphia's main control. Marco Regenelli was the city's main mob guy there for years. Trenton on the border was under Johnny Keys from Philly but the Gambino Family.via Nicky Russo had a major influence in the city.

Did Camden have any control activities in Atlantic City? And from what I read wasn't there a guy named "Red" something or other I don't recall his last name or affiliation. But I do want to say it was maybe Philly?

You can see Philly from Camden. You can literally walk there over the Ben Franklin Bridge. I have to believe Philly would have a bigger presence than anyone.

Trenton was traditionally more philly (Simone, reds pontani, spirito, Ippolito). Russo from the gambino was there too. Sammy the bull goes into detail about the murder they farmed out to philly of a guy who killed Russo son. The Decavs had some guys (Costello) primarily in the Lawrenceville area right next door and Sam the plumber himself lived there for a while. I’m sure there’s still plenty of gambling in the surrounding areas these days not sure if they’re kicking up to anyone. When trenton was still Italian there were a ton of street guys involved in gambling and loan sharking. The decavs have one soldier living in the nearby area these days that I know of.
