Gene Gotti - 08/06/20 10:54 AM

Just wondering if he has been seen out and about since being released?

Not expecting him to try and get back into the life, but has he just kept a low profile.

The Cali murder brought attention on him because they thought he may have made the move to take over, he looks every bit his age from the picture i saw. Other than that...

At this point in his life, I can't imagine Genie aspiring to anything beyond a lucrative career as a well connected, good earning Gambino member. He did 29 years, kept his mouth shut, and didn't make any waves when he got back on the street. Even though he was knocked down from Capo to Soldier while in the can, that was strictly business and not personal. Regardless of his last name, and the baggage that came with it,he is still a Gambino. He can have a nice career, make a lot of money, stay out of jail, and die in bed.Stick with the gambling and other low key businesses, and be careful. The Feds would love to get the Gotti name in the papers again, especially around their annual Budget Request hearings

Re: Gene Gotti - 08/08/20 04:23 AM

I don’t think Gene has any intention of running things at this point. He had the opportunity to take a plea in the drug case but of course his brother forced him to not take it. Gene probably just wants to live out the last few years away from it. Also keep in mind Gene went away in 89 so the mob he was part of is long gone. It’s different now

Gene spent 30 years in the can. Unless he is broke(which I doubt being in the immediate Gotti orbit) I don't see any reason he would jump back into that life. Gene was always smart and low-key. And we'll respected among all the families. He'll live out his golden years and die an old man free in his own bed.

In my opinion any move he makes is all fantasy by anyone wishing for some juicy mob news. Not reality. Again, this site is mostly a historic review of the mob not a daily update of interesting incidents (most times) which I find interesting. I’m not knocking the site content just making a point

IDK somehow it's in their DNA. I hope he's smart enough not to get involved.

He maxed out in prison instead of taking half release at a halfway house. It’s all he knows and he’s an ego maniac. He lives to be Gene GOTTI,I would think he’s back in the game within hours of being released

He maxxed out his prison time but he still has 20 on parole(old laws) new laws it's called supervised release. His and carneglia's sentence was 50 years.

That means nothing to him. He was dealing heroin while out on bail..I can guarantee barring his health failing and him being hospitalized. He is and will be back in the game..or Barring him being shelved

I think if he is still on parole for the next few years hes retired. If he can't go into social clubs or the Christmas parties with out getting violated and doing another 3 yrs or whatever they give you hes done. But if he can mingle with any of his old friends and there sons he was hanging around 1988 hes probaly atleast a capo and deff doing his loansharking thing they say he never stopped doing even from prison and he probaly got his hooks into something new or some old companies that belonged to his brother john.

I think Gene after get 50 y for his brother's "no plea" politic, just wanted to live his days as a free man,he is the only Gotti with brain. Of course he continued to made money from prison but he would be insane to turn back in the life. Thec1980s are passed and there are no more cosa nostra till I die.

So you all think he’s just gonna let his loan shark business go
He knows nothing else ..what you think at 70 something he’s going to become a carpenter,he doesn’t have social security he never worked a straight job

So do you think he would return to life because he had no money?
Do you know how he invested the dope money?
Do you know that Gene wouldn't be helped by his family?

If you have the answers to this questions, write it here.

Is he allowed to mingle with other mobsters and felons? If he can, then hes still in the game imo

Nope. He is in on parole and dont think he would risk to made the other 20 y in prison. He have a brother on the streets that can manage his money. But I think he invested his money in something legit.

Re: Gene Gotti - 08/11/20 04:15 AM

Wouldn't many want him shelved due to him being such a juicy target and the heat he could bring down just by having him name getting thrown around as active?

He had $500,000 on the street at 1.5% when he went away. A couple of guys on the street were managing his shy business for him while he was inside. I don't know what became of it as I'm sure the guys helping him are dead or in prison. But imagine the interest collected over 30 years, assume his shy operation lasted that long.

The five families are now all pretty low profile ok the Lucchese/Meldish case but other than that no major trials, turncoats, big cases..
