Genovese and Anastasia truce meeting - 06/27/20 09:40 PM

I was reading an article about Santantonio and Lombardozzi being informants for the Gambino's. They both mention a truce meeting related to shooting Costello between the two (Genovese and Anastasia) prior to Anastasia's murder. Does anyone have more information on this meeting? Thanks in advance.

There were two attempts before Joe Bonanno offered neutral ground and was mediator of it as he was the Chairman of the Commission. There was one before where it was just Anastasia, Bonanno, Magaddino, and Profaci where Anastasia made his case to go to war with Genovese. It last for awhile, then Joe Bonanno had to go on an Italy trip as a guest to Fortuna Pope, but it was a cover for him to make sure pipelines were secured for the families. He talks about what happened before he left, he put John Morales, John Tartamella, and Gaspare DiGregorio on a panel, had dinner with Joe Magliocco, Joe Profaci, and Albert Anastasia. He had lunch with Vito Genovese and Tommy Lucchese where Lucchese asked what they should do if something came up while he was gone. Bonanno said to call Stefano Magaddino if it did. He left in August and he maintained that Genovese and Lucchese were planning on hitting Albert Anastasia all along.
