This lady is definitely biased. Let's see what a big dog judge does with tommy gioeli in the eastern district... almost sounds in that guys post the judge agreed with his lawyer. Tommy shots case makes dinapoli look like a traffic court case

I'm biased for truth and justice and fairness in a court of law. There's nothing there that isn't fact. And if you want to call me biased then you can call every other journalist who writes about organized crime biased too. If you want me to give you proof of that, I can do that too.

Maybe when he dies they can bury him. On a hill. Overlooking a little river. With pinecones all around.

Or give him a state funeral.

Or make the day he dies a national holiday.

They'll write law books about how Joseph DiNapoli got railroaded by the feds and lawyers and Jerry Capeci and Selwyn Raab.

Don't know how to feel about this one. Dinapoli and his brothers in the Genovese family have pulled some serious shit over the years.

Then again this judge rubs me the wrong way. Her husband is an obnoxious progressive mouthpiece for Columbia University. I'm sure her and her ilk are perfectly fine with the release of hundreds of felony joggers from Rikers.

You have to wonder how much the fuck-all-white-people directive factored into her decision. Then again, you have to wonder about that with respect to everything these days. Especially from members of her tribe. If DiNapoli donated to AIPAC he'd be free right now.

Also rejected by Judge Brian Cogan.

Can't really cry about this one. If it was just some old guy bookmaking sure, but DiNapoli is a career criminal and leader in a criminal organization with a load of priors. He seems to have got off easy with a lot of them too so this is really the chickens coming home to roost.

I agree it's still an excessive sentence, but not some big injustice.

You guys have to understand how outside the norm his sentence was. He had an open plea which means his attorneys probably spoke to the people at US Probation who did his PSI and had a good feeling it would come back inside the guidelines or under. He’s old as hell. Do you guys realize how many judges ever go ABOVE the guidelines? Some of them go hundreds of cases if not more without doing that. It’s a lot rarer than you could imagine, almost unheard of when pleading guilty. Lose at trial and of course they hammer you(which is unconstitutional BTW) There is nowhere in the sentencing guidelines that says you get a stiffer punishment for going to trial. This judge is piece of shit.
