NYPD busts the gangsters that run NYC

Authorities on Wednesday announced a massive takedown of “WOOO” and “CHOO” — two rival Brooklyn street gangs whose “primary activity” was to track each other down and open fire “in a game of one-upmanship,” prosecutors said.

Thirty-four alleged members of the crews were hit with a 122-count indictment on various charges that include attempted murder, assault, gun possession, robbery, burglary and rape.

WOOO (which stands for We On Our Own) and CHOO (whose name prosecutors couldn’t parse) have terrorized the areas around Brownsville and Flatbush for years, in some cases using underage girls as “holsters” to hold their guns while they hunted rival gangsters, Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said.

“They tend to recruit, abuse, and utilize young women,” Gonzalez said. “They recruit them into the gang, they have the young girls carry their firearms, their handguns for them.”

“They believe that the police are less likely to stop the young women,” he said.

Two accused WOOO members, Jayquan Wise, 19, and Tyquan Ellison, 20, are also charged with raping a 14-year-old girl — and Ellison is charged with sex trafficking for allegedly forcing the teen to have sex with Wise.

But it was the gunplay between the two gangs that made them a widespread public menace, authorities said.

In one shooting on Nov. 25, Gonzalez alleged that 19-year-old WOOO member Shan Mason shot an innocent woman — then bragged about it in a self-made video and in text messages.

“I hit the lady in the face — bang!” he can allegedly be heard saying in the video. He also texted that he was “on the run” and “real life don’t care,” prosecutors allege.

In another incident in July 2018, two innocent bystanders were shot on Fulton Mall after a WOOO member left Brooklyn Supreme Court and got into an altercation with a rival.

The NYPD’s gang squad had been investigating the gangs since February 2018.

Maybe its me but dont gangsters control unions, construction, and large scale gambling operations? What exactly makes “ wood and choo” gangsters? I find that weird. A bunch of low life thugs that completely destroy their communities.

Both Whoo and Choo have Crip and Blood sets in their gang, so it's a gang of Crips and Bloods VS a gang of Crips and Bloods.

If extreme and often mindless violence is a sign of undisputed power (it’s not) then the Philly mob of the late ‘90’s had to be more influential than the Genovese and the Rizzuto crime family should be the most stable group in N. America today. We know they weren’t/aren’t, hence the public shootouts, murders, arsons, kidnappings, etc.

The American LCN is the most eclectic criminal subculture along the Atlantic seaboard centered in NYC a/k/a the nation’s most important metro. There’s plenty of reliable info out there confirming this. Indictments, reports, testimonies, articles. It’s not as powerful as it used to be (God help me...how many times do we have to repeat this....I don’t f* know...), but it’s not remotely as irrelevant as many make it out to be, not by a long shot, unfortunately.

Thugs are not gangsters. Drug dealers are not gangsters.

Back not to long ago nobody and I mean nobody would do stupid shit anyplace where organize crime had a foothold , everyone of those neighborhoods were protected by the families.

Wise guys are no more honorable than black gangsters ( and IMO will fuck over their friends more then black gangsters ) they just have a better pitch to the public that they are but it’s all BS . They are also better at making $ too which is why they are still around.

Its just the level of unsophistication and the unbridled violence that makes me think they are a bunch of mindless animals. The fact that innocent children and innocent adults are being killed by these thugs is mind blowing. A very common occurence in democrat controlled cities i suppose.
There was a report the other day out of florida where a bunch of so called gang members stormed a funeral home while a service was being conducted and started shooting. That is barbaric.

Italians are not more likely to kill their best friends. Read the statistics. I don't think Italians make more money than blacks. It is probably average or slightly below what the blacks earn.

Italians probably have 4 or 5 different businesses (Construction, loan sharking etc) just to compete with them. I would estimate that 80-90% of black OC is revolved around drugs and robbery (house invasion, warehouse raids, robbing banks and jewellers etc)

The mob does business with the Bloods and Crips type gangs, and has for years. The mob doesn't care as long as the money gets kicked up.

Every now and then they “ use them” for a hit. They dont have intricate business dealings with them especially since there is nothing intricate about the bloods and crips. The mob basically uses them.

Mob guys have sold drugs to black street gangs. Whether that counts as intricate dealings I don't know. But I think it's doing business and making money.
