Never heard of the shower posse presence in Quebec. But in the 80s and 90s there was a big war between jamaican gangs/posses in the western parts of montreal (uptown, dg, burgz, lasalle and lachine).
Shower posse was and probably still is one of the strongest black organized crime group. The shower posse and the spangler posse shooked many american cities in the 80s. Killing members of african-american gangs, going after the latin kings in the bronx, made a war with JBM in philly and making big move in the UK.
The crazy thing about the jamaican posses in the 80s, they were organized, violent and didn’t care. They were everywhere from the north-east to the south-east.
Jamaican posses, dominican gangs and the Bloods and crips from LA were the ones that spread crack cocaine in many american cities.
Bob Marley tried to make peace between the gangs allued with the pnp and jlp. So he made a show where the leader of the pnp party and the jlp party would both be on stage shaking hands. During the show, only the leader of pnp came, so bob marley was on stage with the pnp leader. So posses that were allied with the jlp , saw that like bob marley was showing is allegiance to the PNP movement. So the shower posses put a hit on him.
The Shower Posse and the Colombian cartels changed the way foreign gangs acts in america. The FBI cracked down those organized crime groups so hard, because in the 80s they were so violent. They acted as if they were in jamaica or colombia, killing without no regard for life. So now, with the states coming for them hard, they learn that they most be more low key. Now, the Shower Posse and others posses are still in american cities making money, but they are low key, because america got the power and the ressources to go after them real hard.
Now, all foreign gangs in america don’t act like if they were from their countries.
People in Jamaica probably already know who is the new leader of the Shower Posse now. Probably a member of Brown/Coke family or an high ranking member of the gang.
Before Dudus Coke became the leader of the Shower Posse after the death of his father. The leader was is big half/brother Jah T who was killed riding his bike. So Dudus Coke took the leadership of the Shower Posse, avenge the death of his half-brother Jah T and took care of everyone who were against him taking the lead. Some Shower Posse member closed to Jim Brown were against Dudus Coke, because he was raised in good school and disnt live that life. But Dudus Coke showed them who was the new king now.
"When Jamaican posses get to a city, they tell people in the narcotics market that they are there and that they are taking over," said Joe Vince, special agent with the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
"If those people don't like it, the gang kills them."
There always have been an association of Rastafari with criminality. Bob Marley would hang out with some tough guys himself, all reggae/dancehall artists had links to the gangs.
