Frank DeCicco - 12/27/19 01:45 PM

How accurate is this wiki info Vito Rizzuto?

In the late 1960s to early 1970s, DeCicco joined the Gambino family and soon became a "soldier". In 1973, DeCicco and future Lucchese crime family underboss Anthony Casso were robbing diamond dealers and hijacking trucks throughout New York State. DeCicco eventually became a protegee of boss Paul Castellano, also a Bath Beach native. DeCicco was also close to Gambino capo James Failla, whom he described as his "rabbi". DeCicco's crew was one of the most powerful in the Gambino family. It included associate Joseph Watts, John Gotti's chauffeur and bodyguard, Joseph Paruta, and Vito Rizzuto

Casso said in his book he used to commit robberies with DeCicco in their early days. Gravano said DeCicco started out under Failla, then Castellano took a shine to him and placed him Bilotti's crew to keep an eye on him. According to Gravano, Paruta did do jobs with DeCicco in the past, but became an associate of Gravano's.

Haven't heard anything about Vito Rizzuto being affiliated with DeCicco though. Unless there's some other mobster called Vito Rizzuto.

In sixth family they did say that Vito's men Sciascia and LoPresti only wanted to do business with Gene Gotti and Ruggiero brothers.

It is a different Vito Rizzuto, info I have on him is Vito Rizzuto Sr, a gambler, involved with the gas scam, allegedly part of the crew that killed Nick Scibetta, and contact between Frank DeCicco and local 282 when Frank could not be reached. His star seemed to fade once Frank DeCicco was killed.
