Mob in Peensylvania

Why in peensylvania there was only 3 little mob families and not a big one? And why after the bufalino and pittsburgh families died why Philly doesn't tried to take their territories?

Buffalinos old territory is washed up old coal mining towns and Dunder Mifflin and closer to NYC than Philly. Pittsburgh is a 6 hour drive from Philly.

I always thought Philly looked at Pittsburgh As a Triple A
Farm system baseball team.
You wont find more people that are different than Philly and Pittsburgh people.

Pennsylvania is a huge state. Those three families' cities are all hours apart.

Youngstown was a really big money maker for Pittsburgh, especially The All American Club in Campbell, Ohio
John LaRocca, Gabe Mannarino and Santo Trafficante were involved in the Sans Souci Hotel and Casino in Havana.
