Greenmount Ave BGF Leader - 10/17/19 03:58 PM

According to his plea agreement, from prior to 2010 through February 22, 2018, Thomas was employed by and associated with the BGF gang. BGF is a nationwide gang operating in prisons and in cities throughout the United States, including in Baltimore. BGF is involved in criminal activity including murder, robbery, extortion, drug trafficking, obstruction of justice, and witness intimidation.

BGF organizes its members into “regimes” or “bubbles” corresponding to particular regions or neighborhoods in Baltimore City and other Maryland communities. Each bubble reports to a bush member or bushman, who controls larger swaths of territory on behalf of BGF. Bush members are elder statesmen of BGF and maintain inter-bubble discipline and settle disputes among the various bubbles operating in the territory that the bush member controls.

Thomas admitted that he was a high-ranking member of BGF, controlling a regime in the 2700 block of Greenmount Avenue in North Baltimore. During the course of the conspiracy, Thomas obtained narcotics, including crack cocaine, which he distributed through BGF-controlled open-air drug shops. Thomas also collected gang dues for BGF.

As detailed in Thomas’ plea agreement, on December 9, 2016, Thomas ordered another BGF member to murder Keith Ramsey, a Bloods gang member, as part of an ongoing dispute between the two gangs.

BF, you have any insight into how the BGF got so ingrained in Baltimore? I know them as a California prison gang and I don't know how active they still are on the west coast, but they've obviously been real heavy in the Baltimore area for years. I remember they had that dude who knocked up like 4 female C.O's while he was locked up out there lmao

How similar do you think this is to LCN structure? It literally sounds the same. I skimmed so excuse me if I'm oversimplifying.

I appreciate your posts.

A guy from Maryland was incarcerated in a Cali prison and met a BGF member. He joined and receive a greenlight to open a branch when he transferred back to Maryland.

BGF mainly active in the Bay area. Baltimore been more active due to quantity per say.

Slighy similar but not a mirror image. BGF utilize 2 different structures: Prison structure & Street structure.
Prison is akin to a paramilitary style and Street is the one above which is more similar to a cells type. They respond to an overall management group.

Thank you.

ok so they're really plugged in with the original gang. i thought maybe it had moved around the federal system and some guys from DC might have brought it there.

speaking of the bay, how's your knowledge on street gangs out there right now? i've been curious about some beefs in oakland

@RollinBones

I'm aware of Oakland's crews in the Black underworld & 14s, 13s, & Border Brothers for the Latino gangs ; Asian Crips ( I think) / Gangs.

Interesting info BlackFamily. Didn't even know the BGF was still active in the Bay Area.
Oakland seems to be more like independent drug crews running things.

Is BGF active in San Francisco, Fillmore, Hunters Point?

To place it in chronological perspective:
The 70s Oakland is when they expanded their street activities and network with established drug syndicates

80s seem to be the peak of their activities with more extortion of dealers & even a car bombing of a rival dealer/ The projects on the westside in the lower bottom area had ties to them/ There's a couple of local crews directly tied to BGF / Kumi 415 is formed during this timeframe

90s is the decline for some reasons unknown at the moment & the shift to the Kumi street activities along with them being a recruitment base for BGF

00s Kumi is still active in the forefront with BGF in the background.

It seems that BGF in the Bay Area have a freelance networks that consist of small number of members while the Baltimore branch have more of a structured network.

@BF,

Im not even totally sure thats partly why I'm curious, they seem to be all over East Oakland and also have members from San Leandro and San Francisco. I'm thinking the way gentrification is splitting up the city shit like this is gonna be more common. Not gonna be many hoods left shit is gonna be more scattered.

@ Bones

They have must have factions if they're in East & West Oakland. Acorn Mob mainly have altercations with nearby crews & not from other areas of the city.
