i can't speak from any position of authority or specific knowledge, but my gut instinct is that if there's enough money in it, then there will be Mob guys getting in on the action. i can't name any specific individuals, but any city with a Mafia presence,or smaller cities with gangsters under Mob oversight, are bound to have some involvement in the narcotics trade. Of course the #1 rule isn't "don't do it", but rather, "don"t get caught". None of the traditional Mob rackets produce as much pure profit as narcotics, and these guys are not going to pass up the gold mine.

I know what you say but given that in this days a mobster risk to get 20 y for few grams of dope there would be made men that was so tought to risk but no more because especially the young wiseguys prefer the old ways to made $$$ (loansharking, bookmaking ecc) that risk so much.
But there are some made men that had spent half of their life in prison for selling drugs (a gambino guy but don't remember the name).

So again there are no wiseguy that today are selling high quantity of drugs?

The Gambino soldier Oreste “Ernie Boy” Abbamonte (the name that doesn't remember) for example is a heroin dealer and had ties with the Aryan Brotherhood.

They are now more involved in the money laundering part of the drug trade, why touch drugs themselves?? Maybe as investors but there a plenty of other groups who do the work.

I don't believe a associate can be involved in such operation without pay money to a made man.

Venizelos was a major Staten Island-based distributor of narcotics for a Canadian narcotics trafficking enterprise. Specifically, Venizelos was charged with narcotics and firearm-related offenses and witness tampering as a part of an indictment in which ten members of a Montreal-based drug distribution organization affiliated with the Rizzuto and Bonanno crime families, the Hells Angels, and the Sinaloa Cartel were charged with trafficking over $1 billion worth of marijuana, cocaine, and ecstasy into the United States between 1998 and 2012.
