Should Louis Manna /A Frank Locascio get released?

Should Louis Manna /A Frank Locascio get released? - 09/02/19 06:30 AM

Louis Manna was caught on tape plotting a few murders and I believe one of them was John Gotti. He received a life sentence or 80 years. Don't know on the top of my head. This guy was a power in the Genovese's. Why is this man still in prison over conspiracy? Christy Tick Furnari was let off with compassionate release.

Frank Locascio..... Why is he still in prison? Not trying to justify his years of crime but many say he was a unwitty participant in whatever Gotti was planning.

Almost positive Frankie Loc got released. Someone can double check me on that but

Manna is 90y old and Frankie Loc is 85 y old and for sure deserve to be released but Manna was the genovese underboss and Lo Cascio the Gambino consigliere. This is IMO) the reason because they are still in prison.

How did these two get so much prison time for conspiracy? There's people who get less time for murder.. How powerful was Louis Manna and Frank Locascio during their heyday? Anyone know?

@Artichoke.
Believe Bobby is his middle name or nickname.

bobby manna was a bad dude they had his dead tgo rights on wiretaps ordering gene and john gottis murders. they had him ordering the jewish guys irwin shiefs murder in a restauurant were he got blasted and his girlfirend in a crowed place. think he tried to order a hit on his prosecutor after his trial. never mind countless other shit. frank locascio was just in a room that was wired well gotti was just ordering a guys murder for not coming in when gotti asked him to. he said on tape he didnt steal nothing hes dying cause he wont come in. read locascio even tried to ask john to spare him. it says he still up here in mass doing life at devens. he s not out

@Pmac.
Was Bobby Manna involved in the Philly hits? He certainly was a bad dude if he was involved in the coup in Philly and ordering John Gotti and Gene's murder... His life sentence may be justified to an extent.

Frank Locascio got a bad sentence imo. Just being in a room that's wired shouldn't be a life sentence. Wasn't he made in the 1950's? He's a old timer.. John Gotti ordered a murder to a guy who was a no-show to a meeting? Nino Gaggi refused to meet Gotti several times; Why wasn't a hit placed upon him? He was out on the streets a few months after Gotti took over. See the hypocrisy and treachery of the mafia.

Someone I work with knows someone who has talked with him and said that Manna still believes he will get out someday.

Probably because of Furnari getting out.

If Trump gets another term, there is no freaking way....I am almost positive that he said he would kill Trump’s sister...The judge who sentenced him.

Lo Cascio was made in the 1950s and Manna in the 1956.
Manna at its peak was the Genovese consigliere (sorry for the mistake first) and controlled the 4 crews in the NJ and Locascio was the Gambino consigliere but nothing more then a Gotti loyalist.

Agreed Manna was/is a bad dude. I mean he was tight with Scarfo so that shows you how crazy he is lol.

i think manna was sentenced under the old law maybe he had or has a shot at parole. he was the guy bringing scarfo all the messages to kill all the philly guys for killing bruno then testa. his hands were dirty. pretty sure the inncoent women was killed in the restaurant sitting next to the irwin guy

They wont let Manna out. He has done all kinds of crazy stuff. The Gotti brothers and their loyalists plot, Philadelphia, Cleveland, and William Grasso hit in Massachusetts. He had and has strong connections to many high members in different families, Nick Scarfo of Philadelphia, and John Tronolone of Cleveland are both gone.

Re: Should Louis Manna /A Frank Locascio get released? - 09/02/19 10:04 PM

Bobby Manna was really anti government. Even more so then John Gotti. The only chance I could see him being released if he revealed more about the Philly plot in 1980-1981 and told more about the Lombardo/Gigante era. He would also have to turn rat; but most of those he knew are dead or jailed.

Re: Should Louis Manna /A Frank Locascio get released? - 09/02/19 11:18 PM

Not that it really matters, but no one else got hurt in the Irwin Schiff murder. He got shot twice in the head at close range by a guy who came in thru the side door of the restaurant and quickly fled out the same door. The blonde woman he was with and the other diners were completely unharmed. A pro and ballsy hit with about 20 people in the place at the time.

Re: Should Louis Manna /A Frank Locascio get released? - 09/04/19 12:00 AM

I know with absolute certainty Bobby has been offered a chance to come home if he proffered, he refused. He just lost his most recent appeal that had a good shot due to evidence of the judge and the prosecution discussing his sentence before he was even found guilty. There was also evidence that the prosecution notified the judge of a plot to kill her(which is bullshit in my opinion) and she was still kept on as the judge. She’s also been the same judge involved in shutting down his appeals. Because Bobby is so anti authority they will never allow the man to go home, him or Richie. Bobby has even tried to file is appeals in a manner to take heat off of Richie so he can go home. The way the Feds have treated him in the can is a disgrace. It’s so ridiculous. One minute they treat him with respect and as a leader of the compound the next he’s getting sent to the SHU if anybody Italian or remotely connected to any wise guys gets into any shit. It’s fucking ridiculous. 80 years for plotting to kill a guy who died of cancer in prison is ridiculous. Plenty of guys have gotten 20 or less for admitting to a murder.

I think the reason for such a long sentence wasn't so much the failed Gotti murder conspiracy, but the Schiff murder which was successfully carried out on Manna's orders. By the way, did they ever find out who the triggerman was?

Re: Should Louis Manna /A Frank Locascio get released? - 09/04/19 12:25 AM

Too bad, he earned the sentence. He refuses to talk, okay die in jail. Seems simple to me. Btw I admire his loyalty to his code, I don’t admire his actions,

I think Frank Locascio got it worse...

The guy has been rotting in the can for nearly 30 years for being In the same room while his boss slowly; but assuringly put them in jail for life. If he pleaded; He prolly would have been out a few years ago. This guy was made in the 50's. He's the last of the heyday...

Re: Should Louis Manna /A Frank Locascio get released? - 09/04/19 03:05 AM

Frankie went along with taking out a boss without commission approval. Either the rules mean something or they don’t. I agree though, Gotti’s “no plea rule” was absolutely crushing to their family. He could have got 10-20 years if he pled. Maybe less.

Re: Should Louis Manna /A Frank Locascio get released? - 09/04/19 04:11 AM

frankie wasnt in on the big paul plot. theres wiretaps of gotti frankie and sammy talking in that apartment gottis saying i dont know who killed paul it was probaly the cops. sammyt said it was a inside joke when the 3 of them talked even thou in his head frankie knew gotti was respocible. he made him a capo in 86 then the underboss in 88 89. but then he switchd places with sammy. gottis biggest mistake

Re: Should Louis Manna /A Frank Locascio get released? - 09/04/19 04:13 AM

i had a good book it was all the gotti wiretaps. theres a chapter , a conversation between gotti and frankie hes asking him when frank was made and he replys when i was 23. gotii says wow you came out the womb in the life. so frank was made in 56 if my maths correct

Re: Should Louis Manna /A Frank Locascio get released? - 09/04/19 01:55 PM

I’ll never understand the back and forth some guys do about Gotti and the people loyal to him. On one hand he destroyed everything and on the other he’s a God. Not directed at you pmac, just in general.

As you said, Frankie was made 20yrs before him so he knew the rules as good as anyone. All these guys that followed Gotti’s stupid rule of weekly meetings or whatever nonsense it was, the ridiculous amount of heat he brought on everyone with his antics and then “the no plead rule” deserved what they got. They should have got rid of him like Columbo once the bullshit got out of hand. He killed a boss without commission approval and then he thumbed his nose at law enforcement as he committed felonies everyday.

In my opinion(not that it matters but I’ll say it anyway) any of the old school Gambino’s like Locascio that allowed Gotti to ruin things the way he did deserved what they got. He’s gotta look in that mirror everyday and ask himself “why didn’t I have the balls to keep this shit from happening?” At least Bobby is going to die in prison for what he believed in.

Re: Should Louis Manna /A Frank Locascio get released? - 09/04/19 02:22 PM

its cool this is all opion. hate to go down this rabit hole but if gotti had another 1 2 yrs on the street he may have been killed. the genovese and luchese family were actilvly trying to kill him . they killed eddie lino a monith before gotti was busted. i dont believe anyone in the gambino family was ploting against gotti. the tale about jimmy brown and dan marino being in on it came from gaspipe casso. he leaked it hoping the family would kill them as he believed they had him shot in 86. the shooter was marinos nephew

Re: Should Louis Manna /A Frank Locascio get released? - 09/05/19 06:08 PM

Reading capeci today sammy the bull wrote a affidavit clearing locascio name. He said frank tried to talk gotti out of it even took frankie down as underboss and made him acting consig. Sounds like he has a shot. Guess his lawyers filed this in boston. Gravano says no one asked him on the stand if frank was guilty or not. Also sounds like frankie kids sent sammy some money to remeber this.

Frankie yes. Bobby no. And I'm not talking about who's deserving of a compassionate release. I'm staying away from morality. I'm strictly referring to who might get one. As someome alluded to, Manna was batshit anti government, a rabid Chin supporter, and had a reputation for extreme violence.

Locasio (and his brother Joe) were well liked gamblers back in '85. Joe's club was right near the zoo. The ONLY connection to the Castellano hit (and a very thin one at that) was Vinny Artuso's connection to Frankie as one of the alleged shooters. And his gun supposedly jammed. He was never charged. Not even with conspiracy. So his connection to Frankie shouldn't mean shit.

Gotti's no plea rule (anti government to the extreme, a la Manna) cost a lot of guys a lot of senseless years. None more so than his own brother, John Carneglia and Frankie Locasio. And as a sidenote, Locasio didn't share the alleged reputation for violence as the latter two. His go to was gambling and not drugs. And I believe Gotti picked him for those reasons. The Bronx was loaded with candidates in '85. But I believe he deemed them too ambitious and/or dangerous. He had to choose one to appease the Bronx faction. So he picked one who was extremely well liked and old
School LCN. Loyal but not a threat.

I don’t disagree Pizza. I just have a personal connection to Bobby and as I’m sure you and other posters have noticed I’m a bit biased. Locascio truly does deserve to come home. His sentence was excessive.

Glad I made this thread recently. Just found out on ABOUTTHEMAFIA.com that Frank Locascio has some good evidence that may get him released. He also has a new lawyer. I can't post the article link because I'm on my phone but allegedly Frank was opposed to the Louis DiBono murder. Sammy the Bull says that Frank opposed the DiBono murder and that the FBI have wiretaps to prove that this was true. I'm not quoting but Locascio told Gotti to let Louis DiBono live because DiBono would appease the situation by offering 50 grand. Gotti was opposed to this and still wanted him whacked.

What do my fellow posters think?

Because he was considered close to Gotti I doubt he makes it out but 100 he should be as should Peter. LE plays dirty af when it comes to Gottis. With Jr they recorded his visits after he pleaded guilty and all they got was him telling people if your coming to see me dont talk about life I am done. Then when they indict him few months before he was to be free they file a motion to not allow his visits and phone calls to be used by defense these fucks even illegally recorded visits with his lawyer but when they didnt hear what they want made sure it couldnt be used in courtt. No mob stronger then feds

Frankie Loc should of been released years ago not because i think so, but because the governement knows it. They are keeping him in there out of spite. The governement are supposed to be above that. Its a total travesty and this is why many americans dont fully trust the governement. What they did to JR Gotti was also a travesty whether you like him or not.

That's the case with many of these guys in the "Mafia". The system of justice laid out for guys with this label compared to guys who've committed the same type of crimes is unbalanced.
