I was banned from posting on that board as soon as I registered, plus it's invitation only, so there's no way I would've known if it was posted there.

I just thought the BB family would like to see it. The name of the person who uploaded it to YouTube is there in black and white for everyone to see anyway.

1979 was quite a year for Mafia killings. Galante, Desimone,Tony Plate, The eppolitos. You had the demeo crew running wild. My old man who was a NY cop always said 79 was a big year for mob killings that he knew of

That youtube account has some great videos. He has the one with the raw footage of Bruno's funeral in Phily back in the 70s. You feel like you're there.

The atmosphere on all that 70's stuff is thick. Cool find.

Random question, was James Galante, who was involved with Matty The Horse Ianniello in that garbage bust back in 2006 in Danbury, CT, related to Carmine? He owned that Danbury Thrashers hockey team also. I wasn't sure if there was any relation there.......

The restaurant gives "special attention to outgoing orders". Especially that day.

The James Galante with the Genovese family is not directly related to Carmine, Peter, Sam, or Vincenzo "James". He may be related related far back on the family tree. James Carmine Galante is Carmine Galante nephew, who is made and a former Capo in the Bonanno crime family.

His other nephew also Carmine Galante who is with the Luccheses serves time for murder will be released in 2022.
He was a fugitive and NYPD even went to Palermo to look for him because the Galantes still have family there.

Very interesting video. Carmine looks like a different person almost in every photo and footage of him I've seen.

When a powerful guy like that dies, what happens to his dough? He had to have made millions upon millions of dollars, no? Surely they have some sort of plan set up to where his daughters or whoever are taken care of, but how much is actually there? Properties? Businesses, etc. Does the "victor get the spoils" as they say and the mob just absorb what was his?

Raw footage of Don Carlo's funeral, from the same account.

Moe's going to love the interview with the old ladies at 5:15.

You heard the man: "If Howard Hughes died".

Succinctly put.

It's a shame they'd associate such an iconic American with someone as cunning and corrupted as Howard Hughes.

According to the comments in the Carlo Gambino video at 12:27 that is Nino Gaggi on the left. What do you
all think? Can you all spot any other known mafia figures besides Paul Castellano?

Doesn't look like Nino to me at all.

Re: 1977-1979 Special Report: Carmine Galante - 04/13/19 02:02 AM

Yeah I don't really think so either but they were saying he looked younger back then. I read in Albert Demeos book
he found out about his dad being mob affiliated by seeing news coverage of the Gambino funeral and seeing him in it.
I looked hard and didn't see him either. Supposedly the whole Demeo crew went to that funeral according to Murder
Machine.

I think that in the video they say that he spent 25 years in jail. He was very powerful, but guys who spend a lot of time in jail usually don't have that much money to fall back on because they aren't on the streets earning. With the amount of time that he spent in the can I don't think that he had much money when one takes into account the time that he was off the street and the amount of money that he had to have spent on attorneys. He was very powerful but probably not that wealthy.

Bobby,

Copy the link from youtube's "share" menu (not the one at the top of the page), go to the "full editor" page on this site's comment box. Open the post video option. Post the youtube link then remove the "s" from htpps. Usually works that way. I'd post yours but I'm on my phone and its a pain in the ass. Thanks for posting though. This guy comes up with unbelievable videos. He must have some connections in media.

The guy with Pete getting ice cream is Frank Decicco's brother right? The one in the documentaries praising John
Gotti. I forgot his first name. I wonder if that old van outside the grocery store was undercover surveillance?

Embarrasing to see how non secretive the mob had become by that time, all their ongoings at the scene being filmed 24/7 by the feds and the news.

Exactly 40 years ago today Carmine Galante, then head of the Bonanno family in New York, was murdered.
