The Sicilian mafia in the United States are more than those in Palermo

According to the estimate made by the FBI in the States, the number of affiliates has been exceeded, compared to those arrested and investigated at large in Palermo. For the Federals in America, in addition to Cosa nostra, there are also Camorra, 'ndrangheta and sacred united crown

Sicilian mafiosi emigrate to the United States form a community of Cosa Nostra much larger than what is now in Palermo. The Federal Bureau of Investigation "estimates that the Sicilian Mafia, the Camorra, the 'Ndrangheta and the united Holy Crown are all actively present in the United States, and in particular the Sicilian Mafia has more than three thousand affiliates in the US , mostly scattered in the cities of the North-East; 100-200 are those of the 'ndrangheta and 200 are affiliated to the Camorra ".

Until 2013, a confidential survey made by analysts of the Ministry of the Interior had calculated that the army of Cosa nostra in Palermo and province, between arrested and subjects in freedom, was 2,366 people. The FBI tells us now that in the US there are many more than in the territory of Palermo.

The feds collaborate with the investigators of the Central State Operative Service of the State Police, directed by Alessandro Giuliano, and they control American families. In the past, Sco and FBI have conducted investigations together using undercover agents that have led to the arrest of dozens of Italian-Americans.

As the head of the FBI in Italy, Kieran Ramsey tells, intervening at the meeting "Investigando 2.0" organized by the Central Anti-Crime Directorate of the State Police led by the Prefect Vittorio Rizzi: "The collaboration with the police has evolved and this has allowed better understand how criminal organizations have changed over time. The investigations have weakened the mafia in New York, but they have not destroyed it, and today it is able to rebuild itself and regenerate itself and it does so less visibly than in the past, "continues Ramsey, and adds:" The mafia in the United States has evolved the recycling techniques and these organizations continue to trade even in weapons and in human beings. They control gambling, use violence and extortion. "

The FBI investigative activities have seen "Italian criminal groups collaborating with other groups from all over the world. In particular with the South American drug cartels and with Russian organized crime ».
Of the American mobsters he spoke to the Italian magistrates and to the FBI some years ago the collaborator of justice Nino Giuffrè. He told of this bridge of illegality that connects Sicily to the US that has never been interrupted . The American godfathers, as Giuffrè explains in the minutes to the magistrates of the federal prosecutor's office in New York East, had tried to resume drug trafficking with Cosa Nostra as early as 2001, as had been done in the 1980s. And they had tried to resume investments in the USA to avoid the seizure of assets in Italy.

Giuffré has unveiled to the agents of the Federal bureau investigation ten years ago the way in which the Sicilian mobsters managed to enter the territory of the United States with false documents: "There is no problem entering the US with a false name. The important thing is to get to England. Once you arrive in England to reach the United States it is not a problem: either directly or indirectly through Canada or some other country. I can safely say that there is no difficulty. Not even to have a document under a false name. "

The magistrates of New York and FBI agents showed Giuffrè several photos taken in the United States to groups of people suspected of being part of the American mafia families, some of which are also of Sicilian origin. The repentant has recognized many of them and for each one tells the mafia story, the connections with the Sicilians and the illegal business they have done in the past.

The former Sicilian mafioso has remembered one particular, namely that "picciotti" Americans in the past decades have gone to the Mafia class in Sicily to become men of honor. The federal agents in an old investigation found that affiliates of the Bonanno clan had arrived in the Nineties in the province of Trapani to follow the "lessons" of Sicilian capimafia .

Giuffrè describes what looks like a scene from the Godfather: " They send them to Sicily to make them men of honor, to let them practice , because in America there is not that attachment to values, there is no more respect. So they send them to Sicily to train them and to make them understand what it means to become a man of honor, because the American mafia is different and needs our qualities ». And apparently these mafia lessons have served a great deal to American godparents who now seem to have strengthened and proliferated.

Nino Giuffrè was Provenzano´s closest lieutenant and a nephew of John Stanfa from Philadelphia.

it's impossible
across palermo province there are about 2.500 made members and about 20.000 'associates'
even if the the states there are 3000 between made members and associates it would be by far less anyway

But you are always saying Sicilian mafia is the most powerful in the Americas.....

And in that book Octopus, it was stated that the Sicilian mafia sent affiliates all throughout the Northeast, at least, if not the rest of the US, places in the midwest and west coast....

sicilian mafia is the most powerful among italian oc in north america but this was misunderstood by the author
fbi never said this, it just stated that there are about 3000 between made members and associates, not that they are more than palermo province

Hello, do you really think that Ndrangheta has only 100 or 120 members in the US?
Less than the Camorra?
