GIANCANA [1975], Police Protection or Surveillanc - 01/22/19 11:47 PM

So,I'm watching some Nat. Geo. piece about Chicago mob. Seemed to be saying that the police (fbi?) who were watching / following him ( Giancana) were 'protecting ' him rather than it be surveillance.
why??

Also, does anyone think the oft-told story that the police who were outsde his house on the night he was killed were told to discontinue their "protection / surveillance " and within an hour he's murdered by persons unknown.
Always found that hard to believe.

I heard the same thing, that there was a police detail on his block or out front, but no idea where

In the 1970s the outfit had more cops on it payroll so if the outfit wanted Giancana dead the first thing is to order to cops to stop "protection / surveillance " that maybe was done for know where was Giancana for better whack hin.

Everyone saw Blasi going in and out of the house that night. The biggest corruption occurred when no one was indicted regarding the murder while everyone in the gov agencies knew who executed it and even who ordered it since there were enough witnesses and evidences but it seems that old Mooney had a lot of enemies on both sides at the time because his ego was limitless and on top of that he knew too much

I agree.

Interesting to note is that before his murder, Mooney had meetings with Cerone and Spilotro, while the former boss also humped the Ants wife

So, you're saying Giancana was banging Spilotro's wife. Interesting, as i fought one of the reasons the "bosses" wanted the ANT' killed was because he was messing around with "Leftys" misses..
maybe, it applied to Sam G. as well .

Giancana was known to spend time with members wives especially during his time as boss. Toodoped, I heard Cerone and another capo was into swinging with Giancana showing up ever so often. There is also a story back on the late 50s that Giancana and an FBI agent were seeing some of the same wives of members. It got around that the FBI was sleeping with members wives to get information on the outfit.

There's no way they would have killed Spilotro just for banging Rosenthal's wife...The mob doesn't side with a jew over an italian, ever !!
