Most intimidating gangsters

Who were the most intimidating mob guys? In America and overseas? I started talking about it on another thread but I wanted to give the conversation its own thread. Some guys that came up were Galante, Casso, Bruno Indelicato and Dellacroce.

Charles Panarella was a pretty brutal guy. He had his own crew in the Colombo's. Many of his men complained to Persico on how aggressive he was towards them.

He was very intimidating and would walk the streets at night with bunch of his men. There was a taped conversation of Joel Cacace in 2001 saying that Panarella was old but could cut a ******* tongue out at any second.

He was responsible for murder of Mimi Scialo and also the murder of two of Scialo's guys who were shotgunned outside a bar.

He was definitely feared by many. Supposily Greg Scarpa was in his crew.

Do you remember Charlie moose in that Las Vegas lawyers documentary (the one that came from philly). He came across like a nice old man. You wouldn’t guess he’s a stone cold gangster. Wasn’t he banished in the end by Carmine then returned to the fold eventually? Did Carmine use the fact he treated his guys badly as the main reason?

I have never seen the documentary. Would love to see it. Yeah; He was banished by Carmine for being an aggressive and no non-sense capo. I may be wrong; But I think the other reason was; Carmine thought him and Sonny Franzese were trying to make an attempt to take over the Colombo's. Panarella eventually did get back in the fold and sided with Orena when the latter was trying to take control of the family.

Like I said; He was a pretty brutal guy.

He also has an aggressive argument with a fed who was vexed that Oscar got the mobsters off charges in many occasions as he was such a good lawyer. He was tony Spilotro long term lawyer as well as Charlie moose and a ton of wiseguys

He had a club on New Utrecht Ave, in Bensonhurst, I worked at a deli a few blocks away.

He was always fighting, arguing abusing someone. No one in the neighborhood really liked him. He was so NASTY.

One of my friends we were teenagers did something stupid outside his club he made such a big deal about it, that he had to go to his uncle who was Rudy Ferrone, from the Decav's had to go to Charlie's club and talk with him. Another time Charlie got into a shouting match with an associate from Teddy Persico's crew, the crew member was a SHOOTER, however, he had to stand there basically and get yelled at by Charlie, because he couldn't put his hands on a made guy or he was a dead man. Charlie used to keep his joker poker machines in the basement of the deli, one time the owner of the deli let con-ed in the basement to read the meters, WHOA did CHARLIE flip his CORK. " YOU DO NOT LET ANYONE IN, that is NOT your basement, that is MY BASEMENT"

Yes even though he was only Decav, he got alot of respect.

I have heard this before. What about the Camorra and Ndrangheta as well? I have also heard that in Italy they earned more money too.

'Ndrangheta and Sicilian Mafia have strong connections to masonic lodges, which helps them to infiltrate basically anything.

Vito Nicastri was arrested again in 2018, he was meeting with Antonino D'Ali J.He has been Senator from 1994 to 2018 , as well as Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of the Interior and president of the Province of Trapani . Antonio D'Alì Sr. was founder of biggest private bank in Sicily (Banco Sicula), his cousin Giacomo D’Alì is a counsellor of the Banca Commerciale Italiana in Milan, they were also members of P2 masonic lodge.

It seems like the Italians really took over in the late 70s/early 80s as far as wealth and power. Prior to that, the Italian americas were on top. I’ve had this conversation with others on here. But who was a big earner within the Ndrangheta? They are so secretive that it’s hard to find much about their individual members online. I saw something about Ciccio Pesce and Antonio Pelle but idk if their level of wealth compares to Denaro’s

In terms of pure toughness though, let’s say if they fought one on one then I think I’d take the Americans just based on all of the great American fighters lol
