Yes. I used to see him around the neighborhood. I'm not sure if he was Scarfo family. What a strange story. Some scumbag stabs himself and drives down Packer Ave. Smashed head on into him. Don't drive those Japanese cars. German ones too heavy to mess with.

When you say relative or family what do you mean ? Nicky sr. Family? Because there is no blood there .

Yes. I only saw him in passing years ago but I remember a friend saying his name was changed to Ferry. Assume you know better than me.

Maybe you confused him with Little Nicky son Cristopher that changed his surname in Ferry.

Probably, I thought they were related because I was told the man killed in the crash had his named changed too. Not many Calabrese in Philly so we stay close. Thanks for clarifying and I apologize for posting before finding out but I am new here and wanted to see if others knew.

I'm pretty sure I read on this forum before that one of Scarfo's children changed his name to Ferry.

Yes .....to his fiancé’s name then married her then divorced ,his boys use Ferry but it’s not them but could be a relative of them .

Chris still uses Ferry the boys and him are in the rehab business in Florida and doing very well.

Boca recovery centers

So if it is a blood family it’s the boys relative nothing to do with Nick .

I think Serp is right now that I read his explanation. The guy killed is probably a relative of the ex wife but not Don Nick.

Some racket GoFundMe's are. It's basically panhandling.

You would swear most people were buried in paupers graves before the internet with the way people expect everyone else to pay for funerals and hospital costs etc.

My parents aren't rich people and they put me and all my siblings through college and bought me a car just last year.

What the fuck are these numbnuts doing with their money? I'm sure they can afford tropical holidays every year, yachts, expensive clothes and expensive cars but they can't/don't want to pay for funerals and hospital costs? Give me a break..

The rise of shit like GoFundMe is demonstrating two things to me. A) the generosity of people; and B) there are always going to be people who will take advantage of that trait in the most tasteless ways

Stand on a street corner with a cardboard sign saying "Father died. Need money funeral costs". How many people would give? I doubt many.

What is the difference between that and GoFundMe in most cases?

It's pretty much the same except the internet has removed the intimacy of the act and made it easier to pull on heart strings.

I don't have a heart of stone. I know there are people who suffer catastrophically and have skyrocketing costs to pay. But in the seeming majority of cases it's people putting their hand out for stuff like funeral costs. I'm not being an asshole here but I bet you could go on their social media or take a look at their driveway and house and they would have all the trappings of a comfortable life.

There have been many cases where things like GoFundMe have been used to defraud people and money is either not used for its intended purpose or doesn't go to the right person.

I think we are reaching a point in society where, soon, the majority of people are no longer going to save money for funerals and it will become de rigueur for people to solicit these funds online.

When did people stop being so responsible? Whenever I leave the country I get insured in the event something happens to me. And that's just on short trips and holidays.

And I hate to sound morbid here, but most people would be lucky to reach 80 and most people would be lucky to reach 70 without needing hospice care or to go in a nursing home. So saving for your children and saving for your future is pretty fucking basic stuff that should be implemented into action well before your forties.
