Willie lived down the block from Jack on 77th Ave. in Elmwood Park. It’s a one-way street going north and I always wondered if Willie drove around the block to pick-up Jack each day, or did he just back-up his car going the wrong way down the street until he got to Jack’s house?

And, it’s entirely possible that he walked to his boss’s house and drove Jack’s caddy...

Sharky Eulo was also one of Cerones chauffeurs while he was the boss from 1967 until 70

@toodoped

How did the situation with cerone and aiuppa work out seeing that cerone was boss first plus he was accardos guy
Posted By: rickydelta

Re: Willie Messino & jackie Cerone - 11/06/18 11:46 AM

@ Cookcounty Cerone Went to Prison in 1970 to 1973 . Then Aiuppa took over to be the Day to Day Front Boss . When Cerone come out of the Prison he never wanted to be the boss again to High Risk So Become the Under Boss till 1986 . Then both Cerone And Aiuppa went to Prison in 1986 . But Accardo was the Real Power Behind it All smile

Re: Willie Messino & jackie Cerone - 11/10/18 02:32 PM

Ricky explained the basic stuff but still there are some details which cannot be ignored...

In 1970 when Cerone (Elmwood Park and W Grand Av) and Phil Alderisio (Melrose Park, Lake View and Grand Av) went to jail, that same year Aiuppa (Melrose Park and Cicero) and Nicoletti (Melrose Park, Lake View and Grand Av) had more than several meetings with Ricca and Accardo, probably rgerading the subject on who was going to take over the Outfit, since the prebious boss Cerone was in prison, and on top of that during this same time period, the previous underboss Fiore Buccieri was was supposed to take over the throne, got sick of cancer. So in 1971 the path was clear for aiuppa to take the so-called acting boss position, while Nicoletti took the number two spot, with Accardo and Alex at the top.

In 1973 I think Cerone was out of jail and according to Alex, he asked Accardo if his position as an adviser can be replaced by Cerone since he was already out of jail, and Alex had to take a step back since his wife was ill. This means that Cerone took the advisory role until Alex's return, and one of Cerone's active roles during this period were his numerous meetings with Giancana and Spilotro in 1974. When Alex returned to the scene in 1975, Nicoletti was allegedly shelved and so Cerone allegedly again took the number two spot. Also dont forget that Cerone and Aiuppa previously didnt respected each other so much but still Cerone was a previous boss and so I presonally, together with other several researchers, think that from 1976 until 1983, Aiuppa and Cerone functioned on the same level, besides one being the number two guy or the top guy.

One thing clarifies that during that same period Aiuppa officially held the number one spot since we have one info that he presided over a ceremony during the early 80s but again we believe that in the eyes of some lower level members at the time he and Cerone were almost equal.

Re: Willie Messino & jackie Cerone - 11/13/18 09:03 AM

Thanks Ricky

Keep in mind that Cerone was a real lacky and a real loyal member and as a matter of fact he took the rep for Ricca in 1970 since the old boss was called as a witness during Cerones trial and so Ricca was caught in a dead end during the questioning of the prosecutors and he confirmed the situation in which he was present with Cerone and the informant, thus sending Cerone to prison. In plane words Ricca snitched but he was too much of an important member and on top of that his health was failing

Re: Willie Messino & jackie Cerone - 11/15/18 07:59 AM

@cookcounty i think i remember one specific case in which Accardo got a call from NY but that doesnt mean anything since both Cerone and Aiuppa also had close commission contacts at the time

@MighyDR after i finish the current chart project which is soon, i promise ill make one on Cerone. As a matter of fact i might make one on the whole Elmwood Park crew and even their predecessors

Toodoped i Ask you a long time Ago to do a Article On Jackie Cerone . He was more then Just a Driver and Hitman lol . To Be Close Very Close To Paul Ricca And Tony Accardo from the Early 1930s . He Was Highly Valued And Trusted By Them smile

Re: Willie Messino & jackie Cerone - 11/15/18 04:05 PM

Thats true Ricky but you see, Cerone was always somehow blocked by some certain situation in receiving Accardos or Riccas spot. For example I already explanied one of Cerones situations in my Battaglia article, regarding the situation during the mid 60s when Battaglia took the number one spot, while Cerone got quite mad about it.

So my point is that Cerone was possibly with the Outfit since the 1930s but his time arrived too late such as the late 60s and he went to jail. Then in 73 he was released and 10 years later he was again imprisoned and that was the end. So when you write about Cerone, you also have to constantly mention his relatives, Capezio, Accardo etc. meaning its not that simple. And on top of that the Elmwood Park crew was always the most elusive one of them all. Its not like Battaglia or Alex but ill make it lol

What did he say to Dave Yaras?

Re: Willie Messino & jackie Cerone - 11/17/18 08:27 AM

A lot of talks between Cerone and Yaras....i remember one was regarding some hit in Miami and another convo was regarding the Outfits membership. Cerone was referring to one of his old non-Italian associates who allegedly got scared because he thought it was only for the Italians but Cerone allegedly said something like "We've got Pollacks, Jews and Greeks"
