I think people here don't understand the cartels. - 09/15/18 08:13 PM

People think that all the cartels are the same or act the same but it's very far from the truth. For example the Sinaloa Cartel opertes more like a mafia inflatrating the goverment institutions like the state police ministry, governors, police commanders, military commanders etc. to brand them support recognizance. While the Gulf Cartel operates more like a military unit with paramilitaries in their units like sicarios, bullet proof trucks and so on. Los Zetas or now named Cartel del Noreste operates more on movement and intelligence operatus they have a signfied central intelligence body composed of ministerial police or intelligence police commanders and soldiers/police as their central unit with paramilitary units or forces as sicarios in their day to day activities but they rely more on their central intelligence called "Katas" for anything. The Gulf Cartel has divisions on their cartel in charge of different activities suck as extortiong, racketerring, human smuggling, drug trafficking and so on. There are vastly different cartels and from each other and operate differently. The Jalisco Nueva Generation are more like old school Zetas with a paramilitary aparatus but they also have an terror or terrorism tactic to them. They have repeteadly attacked the state and high ranking officals and SEGOB agents which are central to the Mexican state. They do this because they have Colombians on their payroll on structure which as we know Colombians are used to attack the states of countries particularly Colombia and they bring that state of mind into Mexico and Jalisco Nueva Generation.

Your right I don’t know but thanks keep posting because I am not a book guy or news guy but I get whet you said ...

Tell you what there are some sex traffickers or associates in the northeast them bastards are out stalking in malls stores boardwalks city’s ect. You got to realize nine times out of 10 once they get a girl raped her a hundred times get her or him on dope and then they need there captors they become dependent on them .

You can make so much money of one 14-15 year old till they are 25 ish that’s a long time and a lot of money and it big business and one of the most disgusting things one can do to another.

And it’s big business just kidnapping them and selling to a trafficker / pimp or what ever.

It was a fracture between the old School Zetas and the Trevino clan. I'm not sure of the reason (haven't really read about it) but the Trevino clan wanted to focus more on intelligence than brute force and they know the shock tactics don't work in the long run or even short term so they went through a transformation and changed their name to Cartel del Noreste while the Old School Zeta bosses retain their name. It was to clense their image and reputation now they have a group called the "Katas" that operate in Nuevo Laredo like the CIA or mini CIA giving intelligence to the commanders or captains and so on. They generally keep the Marines and Mexican soldiers/army at bay and guessing. They had intelligence before(like other cartels) but they took this to new levels. It's really shocking on it's own.

*It was a fracture between the Old School Zeta (boses) and the Trevinos.

The Knights Templar and La Familia are quasi-religious like the ´Ndrangheta.

Don't know much about cartels but I know a surfer who told me he and several other SoCal surfers quit doing Baja when the Arellano-Felix cartel lost control of the region. Evidently that outfit managed to keep the bloodshed away from the tourists, and whoever took over doesn't give a fuck.

There was feud as normal since their territories overlapped but so now they leave each other alone they aren't really at war. The Trevinos have the Marines as a bigger threat to them than the Old School Zetas. The "big" war in Tamulipas now in Tamulipas the state the Gulf Cartel and Cartel del Noreste are is between the captains or commadantes or remaining commadantes of the Metro faction of C.D.G or Gulf Cartel. The Cyclones the Reynosa faction of the Gulf Cartel and "bosses" of the rest of the cartel want to take over the Reynosa plaza(Metro faction) with the Escorpiones as a spear or main function to do so. I really have no much info because honestly I don't really follow the cartels or read on them. Just read news and view videos. I would of privide more info but I am getting over the cartels because I am more worried about more personal things like coding, gaming and so on.

For all the talks about the inhuman violence of the northern cartels - Zetas and Gulf - I think the two most horrific showcases of cartel violence I've seen yet didn't take place in that region. That infamous video where they try to behead some guy, who has got his hands cut off and his faced peeled, with a box cutter while Sweet Child O' Mine and Funky Town are playing in the background took place somewhere in Sinaloa (not sure if it were the Sinaloa cartel doing this). And that one where a policeman is beheaded after which his son gets skinned and disemboweled alive was somewhere in Michoacan (done by some vigilante group Los Viagras or something like that). Truly new standards for brutality have been set over there. Horrible.

I think that the mexican cartels leaders must understand the lesson of the Cali Cartel that made billions while escobar men was killing cops and innocent people with the bombs and of ndrangheta that in the shadows growed as drug traffick leader while cosa nostra declared war to the italian state.

The funny part is that I am not very knowledgeable about the cartels but you guys seems to think they are copy and paste of everything/each other. Just setting the record straight.

Cartel violence in the U.S. hasn't come close to reaching the violence of the bootlegging wars.

They cut people up and decapitate some, and thriller gangs are growing. Plus booze was not the threat drugs are.

Not on this side of the border.

Just like the mafia committed extremely violent acts in Italy that they didn't do here.

When you factor drunk driving fatalities, it is.

That's correct. The violence on the US side of the border is no where near what is happening in Mexico.

There are some pretty good sources of information on the cartels, and in my opinion, the best source is Borderland Beat: Borderland Beat.

I have not found a US newspaper or news source that covers the Mexican cartels with any regularity. It would be nice to have a Jerry Capeci or a "Gangland" column for this topic.
