That's Nicholas Pillegi. Author of Wiseguy (Goodfellas). Hard to believe he was young once.

I don't think it was uncommon, many books and been put out about the mob throughout the 1960's, and Capeci may have been reporting on them also at that time.

Not uncommon at all, journalists were generally off-limits for the mob, as were police.

David Caruso... how does that work? Is he considered more Irish or do the Italians want to claim him since every housewife wanted to bang him when he was on NYPD Blue?

That was a good one. Thanks for sharing bobbybacino. Older reports on the mob might sometimes get affiliations or titles wrong, but still provide interesting info.

Speaking of Caruso and NYPD Blue what a dumb career move that was when the show just started to get big lol

I know. He thought he was going to be a big movie star but his movie career tanked and he had a few rough years before CSI Miami. He was supposed to be a real dickhead - I read he once threw a garbage can lid at Dennis Franz's head during one of his on-set tantrums. The show was better when it revolved around Sipowicz anyway.
