Toronto gangs war - 07/11/18 01:12 PM

There’s a gang war right now in the city of Toronto. A war between street gangs like the bloods, crips and probably the gators (if they are still around). Toronto is a city with many jamaicans gangs and somali gangs. So the jamaican and somali factor is probably important in this war.

The street gangs of Toronto are really about the gunplay. Toronto street gang scene is not like Montreal. The territories of thoses gangs in downtown is not has fix a the territories of gangs from Montreal.
Theirs alot of money to be made in Toronto.

The Galloway Boys (aka G-Way) are a Toronto based street gang originating from various housing complexes around the Kingston-Galloway section of south Scarborough, Ontario, Canada. Believed to have been founded and heavily influenced by Jamaican immigrants who arrived in Canada during the 1980's, the G-Way were considered among the most violent in the city's east end for some time and was somewhat organized but not to a high degree. They are divided up by the "Northside" and "Southside" G-Way, with sub sets like the Throwbacks and the Bad Seeds. In the early 1990's groups of young people (many of whom were 1st generation Canadians of West Indian descent) living in housing developments around Toronto were heavily influenced by Jamaican gang sub-culture, using names like "Posse" or "Crew" as a “scare term". Youths from Galloway were no exceptions and created the Galloway Posse whose members were mainly involved in petty extortion, street-level drug dealing, theft and robberies. These young men were influenced by another Galloway street gang called the Get Mad Crew, whose members were almost exclusively of Jamaican heritage and were already heavily involved in the drugs and arms trade. The dismantling of the Get Mad Crew left a vacuum in the Kingston-Galloway neighbourhood that would later be filled by the Galloway Posse, who by then began to address themselves as the Galloway Boys or G-Way Boys. This gang would spend years terrorizing Toronto streets with public displays of callous gun-play and the use of gratuitous violence to control the local drug trade throughout their West Hill neighbourhood and beyond. However, they were given a fatal blow to their hierarchy when police swept up its members in a joint take-down called "Project Pathfinder" [1]. Tyshan Riley, described as the leader of the Southside branch of this gang (as well as the Throwbacks), has been branded as one of the worst single killers Toronto has ever seen (according to police), facing a total of three first degree murder charges and six charges of attempted murder [2]. The G-Way were believed to be heavily involved in the arms and cocaine trade around Toronto, Canada. Their main rivals are the Malvern Crew, Orton Park Bloods, Versace Crew and the Mornelle Court Crew.

The Five Point Generalz are a small tight-knit group of individuals with origins to Toronto's west end, particularly the Weston Road area. This gang was conceived by five original members nick named the 5 Generals (hence the name), but quickly gained numbers as they recruited other local thugs into their ranks. The 5PGz (as they are referred to) are a roaming territorial street gang whose members have adopted the tradition of sporting tattoos to show their affiliation rather than the wearing of colours like other local gangs. The 5PGz first gained notoriety after one of its members was implicated in the shooting death of 11-year-old Ephriam Brown who was caught between what police describe as a gun fight between two rivals [1] (the two accused would later be acquitted of those charges [2]). The 5PGz also made headlines when one of its members was killed while attending the funeral of an associate of the gang [3], who was also cut down by gunfire on Eglinton Ave. West [4]. Although drug trafficking is their main source of income, the Five Point Generalz are more infamously known as trigger-happy stick-up artists for robbing would-be and established drug dealers alike, gaining them many enemies throughout the GTA. The 5PGz claim a stretch of Weston Road between Eglinton Ave. West north to Lawrence Ave. West in the Mount Dennis community as their turf. This includes 5 Bellevue Crescent and 1890 Weston Road (Mario's Brothers Restaurant) as well as 1946 Weston Road (The Central Bar and Grill). Members have also been known to frequent unit 2012 at 25 Martha Eaton Way, also referred to as "The Fort", putting them in direct conflict with established street gangs already inhabiting that area. Their main rivals would include the South Side Gatorz, the South Side Falstaff Crips, Trethewey Gangster Crips, Up-Top Driftwood Crips, Mount Olive Crips, the Humberline Rexdale Crips, Jungle City Goonz, Ardwick Blood Crew, Pelham Park Bloods and the VR Troopers gang. In May, 2010, Police made 71 arrests during pre-dawn raids in the GTA and Ottawa area as part of an investigation into two street gangs in northwest Toronto. "Project Corral", which began in August in response to a spike in violent crime, focused on rival gangs the Falstaff Crips and the Five Point Generalz [5]. Police seized 19 firearms, $30,000 cash, $10,500 in casino cheques, more than 10,000 ecstasy pills, cocaine, crack cocaine, marijuana, hashish oil, diamonds, body armour and motor vehicles. The investigation also uncovered that a third international criminal organization with roots in Jamaica, the Shower Posse, help facilitate the criminal activities of the Falstaff Crips and the Five Point Generals by supplying them with narcotics and weapons [6

Re: Toronto gangs war - 07/27/18 01:54 PM

The South Side (S/S) Gatorz gang are a notoriously violent territorial street gang founded in the Jane and Woolner neighbourhood in the early 1990s by Jamaican, Guyanese and Trinidadian immigrants to combat the growing spread of Blood and Crip sets in Toronto's west end. The Gatorz aggression towards both Bloods and Crips was evident from conception with members violently confronting active gang members from both factions within their neighbourhood, then later displacing a local Crips set from 15 Martha Eaton Way by the early 2000s. Although they still share a disdain for the Bloods, today some members of The Gatorz have shown affiliation or alliance with various Crip sets. Members of The Gatorz will commonly sport some article of green clothing (most notably bandannas) or standard green army fatigues to show affiliation with the gang. Most are of West Indian or African descent (although there are known Hispanic and Caucasian members as well) and range in age from early 20's to well in their 30's. The Gatorz have traditionally claim "South Side" in reference to their turf being located south of Wilson Avenue, which acts as a common divider between street gangs situated along north/south Jane Street. Although The Gatorz began as a form of protection against roaming neighbourhood Blood and Crip gangs, they quickly turned into the aggressors in most conflicts and gained a reputation as being extremely violent and confrontational. As founding members grew older and tired of the police attention that gang violence tends to attract, most began to migrate from their neighbourhood and concentrate solely on the street level distribution of cocaine and marijuana in the surrounding communities outside of the GTA, leaving younger, aspiring members adopting The Gatorz "card" with little to no guidance or mentor ship. Today police consider The Gatorz to be a well-established, yet unorganized, street gang with little to no structural hierarchy that have branched out from street-level drug distribution to gun-running along the Hwy. 401 corridor. The Gatorz are friendly towards the Trethewey Gangster Crips, South Side Falstaff Crips, the Complex Gooch Crips gang, the Up-Top Driftwood Crips and the Eglinton West Crips. They are rivals of the Five Point Generalz, Pelham Park Bloods, Chalkfarm Bloods the Latin Kings and more recently, the All Crips Gang.

Re: Toronto gangs war - 07/27/18 01:56 PM

The Up-Top Driftwood Crips are a large African-Canadian street gang from the Jane and Finch neighbourhood in north/west Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Considered to be aggressive and extremely violent by Authorities, members of this gang grew up in the sprawling Ontario Housing community of Driftwood Court, where it and much of the surrounding area along Driftwood Avenue, north of Finch Ave. West has been claimed as their turf. It is believed that the Driftwood Crips are the most prominent of all Up-Top Crips with members and associates ranging in the hundreds. This gang has gained the reputation as being aggressive, trigger-happy stick-up artists who generates a fair portion of their income through robbery. Police also contend members of the Driftwood Crips are involved in the drug trade activity concentrated around Toronto's northwest corner. Made up mainly of first generation African-Canadians of Caribbean and African descent, the Driftwood Crips were heavily influenced by Jamaican gang sub-culture during the 1980's with the influx of West Indian immigrants moving out of Toronto's inner city core and into the suburbs. The lure of belonging, status and the potential money from selling drugs or theft caused many of the children of these immigrants to choose membership within local crews. By the early 1990's, the youths within Jane and Finch began identifying themselves as Bloods in response to roaming rival Crip gangs from Rexdale who would constantly clash them at local clubs and public events. But the 1990's would unveil an even bigger threat than those from outside the Jane and Finch community had posed. Growing animosity between youth from Up-Top Jane and Finch and Down-Bottom began to manifest itself. By the mid to late 1990s, the beef became an all-out war between residence from Driftwood Court and Grassways with adjective neighbourhoods choosing allegiances. The Driftwood Crips were the first gang in Jane and Finch to claim the Up-Top Crips card. Members have traditionally been rivals of the South Side Connection Bloods, The Lanes Crew, Ardwick Blood Crew, Chalkfarm Bloods, Jungle City Goonz, the Doomstown Rexdale Crips, Stovetop Rexdale Crips, O-Blocc Rexdale Crips and Five Point Generalz. The Driftwood Crips are cliqued up with the Up-Top Shoreham Crips and are friendly towards the Up-Top G-Side Crips, Young Buck Killers, the South Side Falstaff Crips and the South Side Gatorz gang. On June 12, 2007, hundreds of police officers (including the RCMP and several other southern Ontario police departments) executed 130 search warrants in the Jane and Finch area and beyond targeting the Driftwood Crips. Code named "Project Kryptic" (named so for sounding a little like Crips), police seized more than 30 kilograms of cocaine in the raids as well as several kilograms of hashish oil, marijuana and a cache of weapons [1]. Among those arrested were six workers from Toronto's Pearson International Airport, who police claim helped the Driftwood Crips import their own drugs and weapons from the USA.

Re: Toronto gangs war - 07/27/18 01:57 PM

The Jane-Finch community has one of the largest concentrations of criminal gangs of any area in Canada. Gang activity among youths within the area has reached an epidemic state. At one point during the early 1990's, the local gangs in Jane and Finch were united under the Bloods "card" with gangs such as the Trife Kids, No Love Vice Lords, Looney Toons and the Jane Finch Killaz being some of the earliest Blood sets to develop in the neighbourhood. But after a few violent conflicts amongst hardcore members from different factions, along with new alliances being forged with roaming gang members from Rexdale, that unity was nilled by the mid to late 1990's. Now youths who live north of Finch Ave. West (Shoreham Court, Driftwood Court and Gosford Boulevard) do not venture into complexes south of Finch Ave. West (Yellowstone, Grandravine and Grassways); which are regarded as territory of the Bloods (referred to as "Down-Bottom") where as complexes north of Finch Ave. West fall under the Up-Top Crips card. This self-imposed segregation not only affects hardcore gang members, but young wannabes and adults not connected to gang violence had to adapt as well; but it also acts as an affective buffer zone between the two groups which helps stem some of the violence. Other note worthy communities within Jane and Finch includes the Palisades, Eddystone and Tobermory.

There's a map of Toronto & Montreal (I think) gang/crew territories. The conflict in Toronto can probably trace back to certain events. Likewise with Montreal gangs. Hells Angels seem more involved in Montreal compared to Toronto. But I'll say they're lesd a factor and more of personal disputes.

Drake grew up with his Canadian Jewish mother in Forest Hill, which is a very wealthy Toronto neighbourhood. (His parents divorced when he was young.) There is no Finch-Henry area in Toronto (no such intersection).

Drake bought his "apparel" at the Route 81 Toronto support store on Carlaw Avenue, just a bit south of Eastern Avenue. The former well-known Hells Angels Toronto clubhouse, which has been demolished, was on Eastern, just a bit east of Logan Avenue. The distance between the support store and the location of the former clubhouse is about 250 yards (230 m).

MANDEL: Jury unaware accused killer was top gang leader who enjoyed lobster in jail

Only thugs eat this well.

As jurors are sequestered to begin deliberating whether two half-brothers are guilty of the cold-blooded murders of two complete strangers, they don’t know their dinner tonight will be nothing like that once served to one of the accused.

No, juries aren’t usually treated to lobster and steak.

But Jahmal “Bambino” Richardson, 33, who along with Kyle Sparks MacKinnon, 28, has pleaded not guilty to two counts of second-degree murder, one count of attempted murder and two of aggravated assault, chowed down on a lavish, smuggled dinner of lobster and steak while awaiting trial at the Toronto South Detention Centre.

How you may ask?

When you’re the reputed leader of the notorious Heart of a King street gang — also something the jury wasn’t allowed to hear — you can get pretty much anything, even if you’re behind bars.

In the outrageous photo obtained by CityNews, the alleged killer and gang boss might as well be giving us all the finger as he poses before his contraband spread. When the photo surfaced just before the start of the trial in November, lawyers for Richardson hurriedly came before the Superior Court to request a publication ban.

It wouldn’t do to have the jury in his murder trial know Richardson was such a powerful kingpin that he could summon gourmet fare and an iPhone — even in jail.

In the end, a publication ban wasn’t necessary. All parties came to a compromise that the photo — which the Toronto Sun also published — would not identify Richardson and would have his face obscured.

Until now.

Richardson and MacKinnon are accused of brazenly gunning down friends Quinn Taylor, 29, and David Eminess, 26, in a crazy barrage of 16 bullets outside the New Ho King restaurant on Spadina Ave. in the early morning hours of Jan. 31, 2016.

Both victims had young daughters.

Taylor and Eminess had been out celebrating Stewart Douglas’s birthday and according to prosecutors, were shot after Douglas had the nerve to ask the alleged gang bangers for directions to an after-hours party in Kensington Market.

Douglas was shot in the head but survived. Also injured were two pedestrians hit by the senseless gunfire. One of the men testified that he could hear the men laughing as they ran away.

Security footage captured Richardson in his full pimp-like getup — a black fur vest with a gold-coloured lining and a thick chain around his neck with a large “B” pendant with wings on either side.

The jury had no idea that was just a mere glimpse of the flamboyant way the alleged gang boss rolled.

Richardson and MacKinnon were picked up by Toronto Police as part of the 50 arrests in the Project Swizzle sweep in June 2016 that dismantled the Heart of a King gang. Also seized was $45,000 in cash, 17 firearms, four luxury vehicles and a cornucopia of tacky pimp bling.

Displayed for reporters was a diamond necklace worth $110,000; a gold and diamond-encrusted grid for front teeth; and the piece de resistance — a giant portrait of a bare-chested and crowned Richardson sitting on a throne surrounded by a bevy of bare-chested women and fluttering $100 bills.

Subtle he was not.

Not surprisingly, there was always a contingent of buxom young women in skin-tight sweaters in attendance at the trial.

The jury also wasn’t allowed to see a photo of Richardson sitting proudly on the hood of an expensive Bentley. The man does like to pose.

Police alleged Heart of A King, also known as HOK, evolved from the notorious Nova Scotian gang of pimps North Preston’s Finest.

Richardson and MacKinnon are reportedly nephews of Morris “Moy” Glasgow, a criminal tyrant from North Preston who trafficked a countrywide network of terrified prostitutes two decades ago.

The gang moved into Toronto in 2010, relying on gun and drug trafficking, as well as prostitution and fraud, to “support their lifestyle,” police said.

The HOK Gang criminal activity was centred around adult entertainment establishments and local bars,” Insp. Bryan Bott of the Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force told reporters after the pre-dawn raids.

“This gang, through intelligence information, we know had a high propensity for violence and were involved, we believe, in several homicides in the city of Toronto.”

Now it is up to the jury to decide if the half-brothers are guilty of two of those homicides.

Re: Toronto gangs war - 02/10/19 03:56 PM

The failed mission of a young hit man

Professional hitmen never lose their temper and rarely improvise. It was the opposite for a young Montrealer and his accomplices during a mission commanded in Ontario, where they had to eliminate a relative of the Hells Angels. That is why Marley Dorphelus, 21, was sentenced to 16 years in prison last month.

Matthew Rodgers had left his home early in the morning, without waking his spouse five months pregnant.

On August 4, 2017, the 35-year-old Ontarian drove away in his black Mercedes, with his Rolex watch on his left wrist and more than $5,000 in $50 and $100 bills in his camouflage style pants pockets.

The 6' and 240 lb. fellow immobilized his luxurious sedan in the parking lot of a small commercial complex on Cornwall Road in Oakville, an hour's drive west of Toronto.

At 8:55 a.m., he entered the Sunset Grill restaurant, where employees used to see him regularly with another muscular colossus.

When Rodgers came home, he told the staff he was waiting for someone. He ordered an orange juice.

But after 25 minutes of poking around on his cell phone, he got up, left $10 on the table and left the room telling a waiter that his "friend" ("my buddy") would not come.

Outside, in the parking lot, two men dressed in black were waiting for him.

Shot in the head

They wore kangaroo hoodies and blue bandanas around their foreheads, like street gang members.

According to witnesses reported to the Halton Regional Police, they approached Rodgers, who became "agitated". A rush followed.

One of the two men, black, pulled out a handgun that appeared to have a silencer at the end of the barrel. Rodgers turned his back on them and ran towards the boulevard.

He fell into a hedge not far from the road when a first bullet hit him below his left knee.

Rodgers got up and crossed the road. But then witnesses saw him collapse on the grassy median between the opposite lanes of the boulevard.

A high-calibre projectile had just pierced his skull, removing the Blue Jays cap he had on his head.

Abandoned and panicked

That's when everything started to go wrong for Marley Dorphelus, one of the two shooters.

While Rodgers was being shot, the shooters' "driver" approached the scene with a black Dodge Ram pickup truck registered in Quebec.

The trio had previously stolen the escape vehicle from a construction worker domiciled in LaSalle, a borough of Montreal.

The second shooter ran towards the van and jumped on board. The accomplice driver immediately left, leaving Dorphelus behind, alone and panicked.

"He was there, near the victim lying on the ground. He looked at her, then he started looking nervously at everything around him. He looked lost," a motorist who witnessed this horrific scene told police.

Dorphelus ran away, fleeing north, without having been able to prepare a "escape route" beforehand, as contract killers are used to. All police officers then on duty in Oakville were quickly alerted.

Mastered by an agent

Less than 15 minutes later, Constable Sarah McCullagh caught up with him as the 5' and 8" runaway climbed up a fence.

The police officer immobilized him on the ground, managing to disarm the suspect, who had hidden his semi-automatic Heckler & Koch gun in one of his socks.

"Without even using handcuffs, she neutralized him by holding his wrists until his colleagues arrived to reinforce him," said Judge David Harris when he convicted the Montrealer on January 23.

Once handcuffed, Dorphelus was not taken to the police station, but rather to the hospital because his heart rate was dangerously high.

The young man had no identification on him and remained silent. Finally, after talking to his lawyer, he told the investigators his name and that he lived in Montreal. That's all they could get him to say.

Evidence in the pockets

But everything the police needed to know was in the pockets of his black jeans.

In the one on the left was a sheet of paper with a photo printed on it showing Matthew Rodgers taking himself in selfie.

The one on the right contained the Mercedes model the victim was driving, his license plate number, as well as the name of the restaurant where Rodgers had been lured into this ambush under the pretext of a business meeting.

The magazine of the Dorphelus.45 calibre weapon, with a capacity of 10 projectiles, was empty. Only three casings compatible with his gun were recovered from the crime scene.

Evidence in the pockets

Matthew Rodgers never regained consciousness. But he is still hospitalized and kept alive in a neuro-vegetative state, from which he will probably never emerge, the judge recalled.

The piece of projectile that the doctors were able to extract from his brain did not come from Dorphelus' semi-automatic pistol.

The police tried to find out who had given Rodgers an appointment and to whom he was texting that morning.

They wanted to search the BlackBerry Q5 phone that Rodgers used in the restaurant and that was recovered from Cornwall Road.

But as soon as the device was turned on again by the police, an application was activated remotely, and all the content of the BlackBerry was automatically deleted, much like in the movie Mission impossible.

It is also a protection technology that is increasingly popular with high-level trafficking networks, particularly in Quebec.

The "f... You crew " You crew

The victim was on file as a close relationship with the Hells Angels of the Ontario Chapter in London, according to the province's police intelligence services.

"He was actively involved in a biker support club, the F... You Crew, in addition to being involved in drug trafficking," said Justice Harris.

The day after the shooting, three members of the Hells Angels showed up at Sunset Grill in Oakville.

They asked the employees about Rodgers and they themselves went to examine the traces of the attempted murder in the parking lot.

Rodgers' wife told the police that he was "not discussing his business" with her, and that she was "not asking him any questions" about how he was making so much money.

Isolated and nervous

"I didn't know much about Mr. Dorphelus," deplored Justice Harris before imposing a sentence on the Montrealer, who confessed to attempted murder.

Coming from a family of three children, he experienced the separation of his parents when he was young, and his childhood was "difficult".

Dorphelus dropped out of school without completing high school "to be able to work and support his family financially," the magistrate said.

He had no criminal record and the police know of no affiliation with a criminalized gang, noted the judge, adding that the Quebecker is distressed by remorse.

Since his arrest, Dorphelus has had to be held in solitary confinement for his safety.

Not only has he become a potential target for motorcyclists, he can also be perceived as an embarrassing witness for his accomplices, even if he refuses to report them, the judge insisted.

"He feels depressed, restless, nervous and tired at the same time," he added.

Quebec Subcontractors

Judge Harris sentenced Marley Dorphelus to 16 years in prison, of which he has already served two years and seven months in pre-trial detention.

The reasons for the young man's participation in this commissioned execution remain mysterious because of his silence and the fact that his two accomplices are still at large.

It seems that Ontario organized crime often uses Quebec "subcontractors" for its dirty work.

According to our information, this thesis is favoured by the police in at least half a dozen homicides or attempted murders of bikers or mobsters in Ontario since 2012.

What's the state on the Somali gangs?
Seems like they're becoming reasonably widespread even though they're not nearly as connected or savvy as the Jamaican and Haitian gangs in Ontario and Quebec.

Somali gangs seem to be more active in the drug trade. But they are also deep in the gangbanging stuff in Toronto and Ottawa.

A reflection of many American cities. The hardcore rap scene in Jackson is like this as well.

The Toronto gang war is going on also in other cities in Canada, like Ottawa and Calgary.
