Walter Johnson beatdown on Gotti in Marion prison? - 06/21/18 12:19 AM

What were the details of the beating John Gotti took in Marion, Illinois? Who was Walter Johnson?

Re: Walter Johnson beatdown on Gotti in Marion prison? - 06/21/18 02:01 AM

It was more of a brief scuffle than any sort of beatdown, with Johnson attacking Gotti then saying he called him the N word. Walter Johnson seemed to have been more than a bit insane, and probably belonged in a psych ward rather than general population. He was paroled shortly after the fight with Gotti, and killed by police soon after he got out. His fight with Gotti has been publicized by LE in the media often, the circumstances of his death have been hushed up.

An ex corrections officer on the fight, go to the 6 minute mark to skip the preamble.

its prison shit. gotti didnt lose any clout. the guy ended up getting put into a different unit so he might have did it on purpose to get off the block. theres a pic somehwere of gotti with some blood on his face cause of the scuffle. its not like the guy eearned any stripes and gotti didnt lose any, maybe hurt his pride. there at the tuffest federal prison in america at that time.

Interesting....

I didn’t even know he got out and on top of that he was then killed by the police!

I have seen many ppl talk about the fight (but I guess a lot of ppl like saying Gotti got beat up)...

And nothing about police shooting him!!

Strange.

It is strange, almost nothing exists on Johnson. I have seen conflicting reports that he lived, but the cop died after a shooting. How an inmate so high profile could have so little about him out there is surprising

What proof do we have Gotti was a tough guy? He and Ruggiero were probably on the verge of being killed by McBratney before Galione shot him. Piecyk would've probably kicked his ass only for being outnumbered and stationary in his vehicle; he didn't seem scared of him until he found out who he was.

Just curious. There doesn't seem to be any proof he was anything other than a middle aged street thug who used his mob clout and always being surrounded by people to project a tough guy image.

And when he mouthed off to an athletic, younger guy, without any of his friends to back him up, he got bitch slapped.

And let's not act like Gotti is above Walter Johnson. He stole 325 dollars from Piecyk, essentially robbing a 9 to 5 guy. If he knew where Tony Caponigro's corpse was, he'd probably drive there and take the dollars that were wedged up his ass.

I've heard a story from a Russian guy who did time in US, he there was associated with the Aryan Brotherhood. He said that the Gotti beat down was ordered by Aryan Brotherhood for Gotti refusing to pay them protection tax inside prison.

Isn’t Walter Johnson known as King tut on the streets? Tried to charge him with Tupac’s murder. If it’s the same guy

He was tough but his toughness was grossly exaggerated. For example Junior told some fairytales in the documentary. First he said that 17 year old Gotti tracked down a much older Willie Boy Johnson who was hunting Gotti and gotti threatened him with gun and willie boy surrendered to gotti. That story reeks of horseshit. Then like you mentioned the McBratney murder Junior claims his father acted all cool and let Angel and Ralpie Galione try to act like cops and when that didnt work gotti shot mcbratney and told the bar maid to put the phone down. When i heard that i literally fell off my couch laughing. Like you said in reality gotti and Ângelo were the ones trying to act like cops and mcbratney told them to fuck off and proceeded to toss them around like rag dolls until galione shot him. I mean the only reason gotti got only 2 ,years was because he wasnt the shooter. So yes he was tough but he and his family definetly made up a lot of myths

Gotti and Piecyk went down way different than your made up version, Piecyk was beating up a man who had a heart problem, he was out of his car, not stationary, a and he was way bigger than Gotti, who kicked his ass. He was afraid of Gotti after the fight, and went to the cops saying he had been robbed while sitting in his car.

That was exactly what the FBI put out as their version, your friend must have read it online.

gotti and another associate slapped him but didnt kick his ass. Yes he was afraid but probably because gotti had hundreds of soldiers under him who made threatening phone calls and cut his brakes on his car

According to the video you posted, Johnson killed a DC policeman with his own gun a month after he was paroled. He was nailed in a traffic stop later and is serving life without parole.

John gotti told buddy to "get outta the way n-word". Jeff fort, the leader of the black stones, ordered gotti assaulted. Don't believe any other story than that

The reason no retribution was made about him getting his ass beat is because jeff fort was the man in Marion

A Blood from Athens Park who was bidding with Gotti spoke on the incident. He didn’t say what it was about but that the kid swung and connected. Hence the blood pouring from John’s head in that infamous picture. Not much of a brawl the way everyone hyped it up to be.
