Modern day colombos - 06/02/18 08:54 PM

Haven’t heard of the colombos in a hot minute. Anyone know who the major players are? Any of thier big rackets? Newly initiated members?

Major players:
Andy Russo (last known acting underboss)
Ben Castellazzo (underboss as of 2015)
William Russo (capo and son of Andy)
Ralph Lombardo (capo and former acting consigliere)
Tom Farese (Florida capo and former acting consigliere)
Joseph Baudanza (capo and former ruling panel)
Dominic Montemarano (LA soldier and former acting underboss)
Vincent Febbraro (influential soldier)
There are probably other, younger major players we haven’t heard about yet.

Big rackets:
Loansharking seems to be a constant with every Colombo bust, as does gambling
Figli di Santa Rosalia is something the Colombos control to an extent
Construction, trucking, demolition and union corruptions are still big (Tom Petrizzo, Persicos, Scopos, Garofalo, etc.)

Recently inducted members are John Cerbone (2013-2015), probably the guys from the botched 2010 ceremony (Sessa, Spata, Phil) as well as Bobby Tarantola.

If it came down to it, it’d probably be Andy Russo. Vacancies in the acting boss position have, three times in the past, come down to him. Media also speculated after the 2011 bust that Billy Russo was a possible candidate.

Bill Russo or Dennis Delucia are the two to put money on in running the Colombo crime family.

Pogo the Clown from Black Hand compiled that information, by the way, in case anyone was wondering.

Just clarifying.

By the way, I should have mentioned earlier that media has speculated that Teddy Persico Jr. was primed to take over the family until his 2011 arrest. He was also on a ruling panel to assist Ralph DeLeo. We all know he wouldn't be opposed to it. Ultraviolent, ultra-dedicated capo whose life is nothing apart from the Mafia.
When he gets out in 2020, no doubt he'll pick up right where he left off. He's what Skinny Ted said to Steven Marcus in the 2000s:
"You're not me," said Teddy Persico, in what could be the understatement of the decade. "You're a guy who wants to work and make a living, I think. I got nothing. They can't fuck with me because I got nothing to lose and they got everything to lose. You can't fuck with them because you've got everything to lose and nothing to gain by getting physical. I can get physical all day long."
"I got nothing to lose. I can get crazy. I don't give a fuck; what are you going to do, put me in jail? What am I going to lose? My wife, my kids, my house that I own, my $2 million house that I own, my car? I don't own nothing. I got no wife, I got no kids. I can act like a fool. I'm telling you what I can do, I know you can't do that, I know you don't want to do that."

So if you're looking for the future of the Colombos, it seems Teddy Jr. ticks all of the boxes:
1. He's a PERSICO, so he's already got huge backing in the family.
2. He's not hesitant to commit violence and whack guys
3. He's not stupid, and was behind some pretty sophisticated crimes.
4. Low risk of flipping (nothing to lose)
5. Big crew beneath him.

Teddy i believe has been locked up since 2005. He was jailed in 05 due to kenji gallo wearing a wire on teddy and his crew. Additional charges for murder came in 2011. Correct me if im wrong. What im sayin is commin from kenji gallo.

I don't really see what Furio did wrong here. He posted the link to Black Hand, never once inferring the information was his own. What more can he do?

Does Pogo the Clown credit the person he took this information from, the one who compiled the FBI files, every time he posts this stuff? This stuff didn't originate from his research so he has no reason to be claiming ownership of it. Likewise, if it's public domain or came from a Freedom of Information request, it's not his to own either.

Seriously, if you want to claim ownership over shit like this, do what Capeci, Anastasia and Raab did, and get a college degree, pound the pavement and develop your own sources; not just access a file and start acting like you own shit because you were the first person to access it, and copy and paste it.

Just my two cents. Cos Furio is good people and I've seen him catch shrapnel for this before, but nine times out of ten he will post a source for stuff like this, and if he doesn't, it's a genuine error.

The colombos must be rebuilding since they haven’t gotten much attention recently

Re: Modern day colombos - 06/03/18 06:55 PM

The Colombos problem is that while the other families had a boss on the streets they had a capo and acting boss that get life and was too powerful to be replaced. If I would the snake for rebuild the family when teddy jr will be out in 2020 I will appoint him as the real boss.

Teddy Jr. was busted in 2005, but only served a couple of years behind bars and, upon his release, was promoted to capo & ruling panel member (while Kenny was on the street, Teddy Jr. was just an influential soldier). From 2008-2010 he was a capo/ruling panel member until he was arrested in 2010 on labor racketeering charges, then the following year in January he was hit with loansharking charges, then seven months later he was hit with the murder charges.

Here's what we know for the current members:
After the 2011 bust, there was a meeting surveilled between the Gambino and Lucchese families on how to divvy up the Cement & Concrete Workers' Union. But a recent article has confirmed that the same "coffee-boy" shakedowns that the Scopos concocted are still happening today.
Underboss Ben Castellazzo's son, Ben Jr., was named in 2015 in a bust where Genovese-backed gangsters were attempting to get him a newspaper job and union card.
Teddy Persico Jr., Michael Persico, Thomas Petrizzo, Edward Garofalo Jr. and James Bombino were all prominent in the trucking industry shakedowns according to their 2010 busts.
Capo Dennis DeLucia's son is the secretary-treasurer of the United Construction Trades and Industrial Employees Union, although he hasn't been linked with any organized crime activity other than when Genovese capo Conrad Ianniello forced the younger DeLucia not to unionize. Dennis attempted to retaliate, but Ianniello's crew prevailed in a sitdown, allegedly.
The Colombo Brothers (Anthony and Christopher), and soldier Gerard Clemenza corruptly controlled EDP Entities, in 2004, and took kickbacks in a similar vein to the concrete club. That was a big one considering both the brothers and Clemenza were shelved at the time.

I've probably missed some, but that's what I can think of in terms of construction.
