DeMeo Crew Hits List - 04/27/18 10:35 AM

Hi guys I'm trying to do a DeMeo Crew Hits List, accurate as is possible, give that the demeo crew members still alive won't say the exact numbers of the people killed; so this list is a work in progress, and any help is accepted.

Re: DeMeo Crew Hits List - 04/27/18 12:37 PM

Why didn't Demeo get pinched for killing the kid? You're telling me there weren't any witnesses? Two big ass Cadillacs hauling ass with one firing shots as he's driving and then gets out and shoots the kid execution style. Also, I heard the last days Demeo was wearing a leather trench coat with a sawed off shotgun concealed on a program once. And he was paranoid and tooted on blow. I never heard that account on any other program. You have at least 182 more to go Furio. I find that hard to believe that there were two hundred people murdered. That's one person a week for four years or twenty a year for ten years.

Roy made an alliance with Featherstone the spillane's successor and only for this Castellano agree to made Roy in 1978,I say this because Spillane was against an alliance with the italians but not Featherstone.

I'll add one more to the list. In May 1980 Demeo killed Patrick Penny who was a witness to the eppolito killings. Also in September of 1978 Joseph scorney is killed by the dememo crew and is stuffed in a cement filled drum

Just for my understanding as leaders of The Westies.. It went Mickey Spillane then Mickey Featherstone and then to Jimmy Coonan correct?...was there anyone else after Coonan?

Re: DeMeo Crew Hits List - 04/28/18 05:24 AM

Great list. I didn't see the two guys murdered by Chris Rosenberg on the list though...it was in murder machine. He fronted Coke to one guy and weed to the other. Both messed up the package and both ended up wacked. They even had an exact amount in murder machine for the weed guy killed....Chris fronted him 4 pounds of weed. Refused to pay. Got killed.

No doubt DeMeo and his crew killed 100. Question is did they kill 200? I'm gonna guess around 150. I truly believe DeMeo himself was involved one way or the other with 100. He is probably the most prolific killer in American history period let alone the mob. He has more bodies then the green river killer.

It's numbers 19 and 20 although is says 10 pounds instead of 4. I'd have to look it up in murder machine to see how much it was.

Well, looks like we both we wrong! Page 159 in Murder Machine.....the amount he was killed over was 3 pounds....yikes. Chris Rosenberg did not mess around...he had a huge chip on his shoulder.

But yeah, this Gary Gardine got 3 pounds fronted and decides not to pay. Stupid decision and it cost him his life.

the cousin dracula was always interesting hes roys 1st cousin so once roy gets found in the trunk of the car dracula must have known it was roys best friends i doubt he would go meet anyone from that crew after roys discoverd. but at the same time the feds would have tracked him down he was a serial killer. roys son said he dropped him off at jfk why lie? but he must have got whacked or the fbi would have tracked him down in romania at his old castle. get it.

That is true what Albert said about Guglielmo. He was spotted in the Miami area in the summer of 83'. After that it is anyone's guess at what happened later.

Crazy part all those murders testa n senter have a release date last time we check its 2032. 14 yrs from now they'll probaly both make it. Really youve heard that about dracula. I guess it could be true. The guy was around demeo so much he knew once roy was killed he was next. Dam. There alot of innocent bystanders in these hits so sloopy killing 3 guys to get 1. Nuts. Shocked castellano didnt have all off demeos crew killed in 1983 like a open contract to anyone. Makes .e think they were protected by another family amuso gaspipe ect.

I don't think would have been possible to take them all out. As it was NOBODY took the Demeo contract. Its a proven fact that gotti was absolutely terrified and basically begged Paul not to give it to him. In end The Gemini twins and Nino had to do it themselves.

Where did you see it as a "proven fact" that Gotti was terrified of DeMeo? I have seen it said on internet boards but that is always wishful thinking and speculation. I also cannot see him being told by his boss to kill DeMeo and begging not to have to do it.

ya idont think gotti was scared of anyone hes was a true tough guy. but i think gotti knew in his head he wasnt close anuff to demeo to sneak him he probaly couldnt get near him with out demeo letting his guns off first. like it was a suicide mission. and gotti wasnt dumb anuff to go creeping around demeo crew place what was it flatlands brooklyn.

I think it was picked up on a wire that Gotti was approached for the Demeo hit and did his best to avoid it cuz he was leery of Roy and all the hitters around him. it may have been Gene and not John that said it tho.

I can believe that. as crazy as the book made him seem I don't think that it'd be out of the realm of possibility that they didn't really deem him a major risk as far as turning rat. he'd of probably made a terrible witness between his ultra strange record, his horror movie esque appearance and the fact that he wasn't going to be able to tell l.e anything that the guys who previously flipped hadn't already said.

and I might be off but now that I think about I can't remember Dracula committing any murders so maybe the cops didn't really have much of an interest.

My wondering is why would the older fellas of the Scarfo crew know or give a shit about someone like Gugleilmo??..But..my older contacts presume it was all "uno famiglia"..also being that Charlie White was stashed up there...the Scarfo regime was tight w/ the Gambino's back then,,,but then again Lil Nicky was tight w/ everyone back then if u think about it.I don't know but that Drac dude is a gone baby story now..

The Gemini twins had ties with the luccheses ? or was made only because was a stone cold killers ?

Re: DeMeo Crew Hits List - 04/29/18 12:30 PM

Patti Testa was close to Amuso and Gasspipe. Frankie Decicco who was overseeing the contract on Demeo, new Gasspipe had the Twins in his pocket. They must of looked up to him, idolised him(they were young) and he knew that and he also knew, in his own words, " they were probably the most psychotic killers in the history of LCN" and that's coming from a paranoid loco like Gasspipe. It sounds like in Alberts book, they were both working for and under he supervision of Gaggi, tying up loose ends. When it was all imploding with the crew, they both knew they were dead men walking and Jack Julie could protect them. That's when Gasspipe stepped in. He said they both kept asking for reassurance if they would be OK and nothing would happen to the them. They both knew they were dead men. Casso said if you take the contract, from that moment on your with me and no one can touch you, if not your on your own.

There are wiretaps of Gene Gotti and he specifically said that Gotti didn't want to take the contract because Demeo was obviously a bigtime killer and he had a "army f killers" around him. Maybe "begged" isn't the right word but he definetly ducked his way out of that

Why is it so hard to believe that Gotti was scared of whacking De Meo. John Veasey is a punchline to people yet it's on record that Steve Mazzone cried out of a hit against John Veasey.

Not saying Mazzone is on Gotti's level in terms of idiots lionizing him, but it stands to reason.

They both were disliked by Paul, but Gotti had Mr Neil, Demeo had Nino. Demeo brought in more money and would wipe out anyone that tried to take on his crew. Were there any crews that could have come close? At the end of the day, they had to hire within to take out Demeo let alone his whole crew.

Not a waste at all, the guy was a demented psycho path who was making his money at least in part through kiddie porn. Guys like that with a lot of blood on their hands tend to have a short shelf life, a great example is Sam DeStefano in Chicago, he made a huge amount of money, but he was nuts. He became a liability and and he got hit in his own garage. Eventually the value of someone as a killer and an earner isn't enough, and in those days as soon as you became a liability it was lights out.

Demeo crew was made by car thiefes and drug dealers and anyway they are criminals but Castellano considered himself more like a businness man than a criminal.
DeStefano,Demeo,Spilotro and others was killed by bosses that fear media attention caused by their men,as long as they made money in silence they are good earners, but when they attract a little attention immediately the boss worried about it;at the end isn't important if you're a sociopath or worste the important is to made money in silence;DeStefano,DeMeo,Spilotro ecc was killed for this not because was sociopaths.

Re: DeMeo Crew Hits List - 05/06/18 10:40 AM

Regarding Gotti, it's perfectly normal to be terrified of someone. I always find it odd people disputing the issue when his own
brother was caught on wiretap addressing the issue. There is a video of Franzese talking about the worst crew (Demeos) . They were a rough crew, they were rough and everyone knew they were doing because they enjoyed it. You can here it in his tone that people gave them a wide birth. People always call Gotti a dumb ass and stupid but he clearly wasn't stupid in this case. Roy was never in a million years gonna turn informant and in there defence neither did the core of the crew Borrelli and the Twins.

With his crew members killed or switched to other family,Roy would had no people that would made money for him. Maybe in prison Roy could set a drug ring but he sent to max prison would be broke.

How could anyone say that never in a million years some one would NOT flip.

If Gravano flipped and Massino flipped anyone is on the table.

You never know until you are tested what you are made of.

As for Gotti, being scared I don't see it
Smart enough to know when to take a pass on something doesn't make him scared.

It didn't much to get killed back then.
He killed Castallano who was the boss of bosses and just went him to his like nothing.

Most of the other guys went and hid out somewhere

It wasn't his beef why take it on when you know he has an army of killers
Besides I am sure he didn't officially refuse because that is a death sentence to refuse a hit contract by a boss.

Maybe they floated the idea and he did not bite.

beside valachi i think the 2 new york member to publicly flipp was vincent cafaro in 1987. then mike franzese in 89 after little al flipped in september 91 gravano was next month octo. then the flood gates of rats was released in nyc after 92.

Yes Gravano opened the flood gates pretty much
I agree it was in likely

But Demeo had the goods on Castallano

So who knows what would have happened.

They W.P.P. was around and I am sure the.Feds tried getting guys to flip before Gravano

He was taken out because Castallano thought he might flip WITSEC or not.

I think what you were referring to is union dues was paid in his name at a recycling company that his cousin owned.
For I tho k 10 years eventually he would have been able to collect a pension but some how the feds found out about it and ki-boshed it.

Yeah thats what happened I tho k it was Decicco approached Casso and asked Casso to get the twins to take out Roy, and Casso said ok
I can get the twins to do it but then they are with me from now on.
And everyone agreed
Casso told the twins which they had no choice

If they said no they were as dead as Demeo

Re: DeMeo Crew Hits List - 05/07/18 02:51 AM

yes bhurst something like that. pension if he gets out at 72 in 2032 would be a nice gesture for of the murders he did for bosses. but it got snuffed out. i read the article along time ago. then theres always the other internet rumor of demeos death it was nino himself. roy only trusted him. but he was under indictemnet for killing a cop or shooting a cop plus aton of other shit and big paul wanted nino dead probaly more then anyone else besides demeo. he brought roy around got paul indicted and shot a cop and some witness. then that whole shit where he took a bullet out of himself on rikers island which made him a leh=gend in my eyes. he switched the bullet the cop shot hiim with. movie shit. gravano is on the ravenite tapes telling gotti he had a conversation with nino that paul wanted him dead and something along the lines its a good thing gotti is boss now youll live.

Wasn't it the sloppy dressed Walter Mack who said they would never have taken Demeo as a witness. He was just too evil. But that was said after the fact. If they could've used him against anyone in the commission case you know damn well they would've made a deal.

Re: DeMeo Crew Hits List - 05/07/18 11:40 PM

Now that I think about it, it isn't unlikely that Roy DeMeo would flip and the feds would take him in. Castellano had to be their number one target and DeMeo dealt directly with him. I know they had Castellano on tape but they also had Gotti on tape talking about murders and they still took Gravano in. Plus I'm sure he'd have info on plenty of other mobsters. I know he killed heaps of people but he could just lie about the body count and/or motives behind the killings just like Gravano.

Gravano flipped because Gotti would give all the blame to Sammy while Massino at 60 y doesn't want to die in prison. But Basciano was more than 59 y old and get life but don't flipped,Pitera that was similar to demeo take life at the age of 40 and there more example.Limone and the other risked the electric chair but said to the judge to give electricity to the chair. yeah well the way I see it is DeMeo was stand up and had a few more years of making money, I don't believe he would of ratted either and if what you say was true about Castellano's reasoning then it sounds to me like it wasn't a sufficient reason to have him stiffed in the first place. Re: DeMeo Crew Hits List - 05/10/18 12:42 PM

How was Demeo with his crew? Was he like Nino and held them back or did he treat them all like equals? Didn't he get Freddy's teeth fixed and pay him to be his driver? He sent Testa to the best pulmonologist to help with his breathing issues related to the time he got stuck just to be told to quit smoking. Was Demeo close with any other crews or were they all scared of him and he was only close with Nino? His story would make an interesting mini series. Murder machine and his son's book were both pretty intriguing.
