DiNuzio brothers and I would think Matty G is in very high standing. Not very familiar with NE and where the power is, but I would assume those three are up there in terms of power. Carmen’s son was just made apparently

The Patriarcas have almost 40 made men right? They have connection with what remain of the winter hill gang?
Anyone know who oc gruop control the dope traffick in Boston?

Re: Welcome to Gangland Boston - 01/14/21 12:16 AM

Latin gangs are huge in Beantown, MS-13, PR's, Caper Verdean's, etc.

Boston is Carmen, Matty G and then Spagnolo as Consigliere.

Carmen's brother Anthony is like the Boston street-boss

And before any one asks I have a friend that bartends at a mob-connected strip club on the north shore and he sees and hears things and this is what he tells me

Re: Welcome to Gangland Boston - 01/14/21 12:36 PM

From what I read, a big part of the drug trafficking in Boston goes through street gangs these days. There are unaffiliated Dominican drug trafficking groups active in for instance Boylston Street or Mozart Street. Puerto Rican drug gangs (mostly Latin Kings) are all over New England and they also operate in Boston. Neighborhoods like Dorchester and Roxbury have a lot of Cape Verdean gang activity; the Cape Verdeans seem to push a lot of dope as well as amphetamines.

More traditionally speaking, the New England Mob is still active as well, Chinatown no doubt has some Chinese gang activity and bikers are around as well (Hells Angels, Pagans...there actually was a noteworthy Pagans bust some time ago).

Do you assess there's no longer any Irish criminal activities ?

There probably is some, but I doubt it's a major thing. I read somewhere that there's supposed to be an Irish crew operating from Gloucester New Jersey, but there's little substantial evidence to be found. That doesn't mean they aren't around at all, but anything as "structural" as the Mob? Don't think so.

Plenty of Irish Americans (as well as Italian Americans) on the East Coast joined outlaw motorcycle clubs.
When you take a look at the Pagans bust in Boston in 2018 most of the names were Irish, Italian or French (Canadian) and there was also a substantial number of Puerto Ricans and Laotians.

Nothing organized. Certainly no Irish mob boss anymore. That ended with Whitey.

Re: Welcome to Gangland Boston - 01/14/21 10:54 PM

From what I understand is a lot of neighborhoods on the north shore like Medford and revere are still Mafia controlled, ms13 and Latin kings are big know to, not to many Irish guys left and if they are there most likely hooked up with mafia guys

Re: Welcome to Gangland Boston - 01/15/21 02:22 AM

Boston made guys active in a real way? I say 12 or so...definitely not 40 made guys still fully active and kicking up to the pyramid. There's still a good bit of bookmaking left, medford and Revere as mentioned above, eastie and some in the city and suburbs north and west and maybe down into Quincy/braintree...im sure guys take bets from guys who live further out than that but thats the lay of the land these days...no violence, nothing much more than book and drugs and I dont think these guys are running the drug game here these days either...mostly Spanish as mentioned above...also there are no mob-connected strip clubs anywhere in MA north of Boston...there are exactly 5 left and they aren't open now or connected....the poster above probably is talking about the Squire lounge, closed for covid and rumored to not be coming back...used to have a bunch of Cosa nostra and 81 in there 15 years ago but that scene is long over except for guys who still show up wishing it wasnt..the kid brothers that own it now aren't connected kind of guys at all and also have the golden bananna...there was never any kick up from Boston strip clubs that was all RI and its all over since 2009 and thats a sad, sad thing for any red-blooded American kid trying to have a good time on Saturday night...
Posted By: mr_white

Re: Welcome to Gangland Boston - 01/15/21 02:28 AM

also there's never ever been Pagans in Boston or really MA at all...MA is a Frontline standoff with outlaws south of Boston..all of Southern MA up to their clubhouse in Eastie al.ost right at the Tobin Bridge...they don't wear colors north of the bridge, which is all HA up into NH and pretty much all of Northern NE except some Outlaws in Maine north of Portland. There was one kid who tried to bring the Pagans into RI a few years back, had a lot of heart and balls and he went down fast and they're all gone.

Little update on the Rhode Island Pa*an bust:

July. 2019

The Burrillville man depicted by authorities as the leader of a violent motorcycle gang and Woonsocket drug enterprise is out on home confinement after a judge this week threw out the wiretap investigators used on his phones.
Superior Court Judge Netti C. Vogel on Wednesday suppressed the wiretap of Deric McGuire’s phones from July 7, 2017, after concluding that under state law only the Superior Court’s presiding justice or the next-senior Superior Court judge can authorize such interceptions, according to John M. Cicilline, a lawyer involved in the case.

“They lose the wire. It’s far from over, but it’s significant,” said Cicilline, whose father, John F. Cicilline, argued the motion to suppress.
McGuire, who had been held without bail, was released on home confinement the same day.

Kristy dosReis, a spokeswoman for Attorney General Peter F. Neronha’s office, declined comment, other than to say the state planned to appeal.

McGuire, 33, faces more than 220 narcotics and weapons charges.

Donna Uhlmann, who represents Catherine Glaude, joined in the suppression motion, along with lawyers representing with other defendants.

“The Rhode Island wiretap law is so narrow. There’s no room for error,” Uhlmann said.

John F. Cicilline challenged the validity of the wiretap warrants, because state law specifies that only Superior Court Presiding Justice Alice B. Gibney or the most-senior Superior Court judge, in this case Robert Krause, can sign a wiretap warrant in her absence. Instead, Superior Court Judge Melanie Thunberg had signed off on many of the warrants.

“Any wiretap order she signed is out. It’s for all the cellphones involved,” Uhlmann said.

Like McGuire, other defendants are also being released after remaining behind bars for more than a year, she said.

Hi Azguy, I completely totally believe that the RI Pagan guy or his friends may have crossed into Stoughton or had friends in Stoughton. And probably would have found friends and allies in almost all of Southern MA!

Best Regards,

Re: Welcome to Gangland Boston - 01/15/21 11:05 PM

Top guy in New England is Vin Ferrara. Hands down. No question. And they are as strong here as they have been for years. Boston holds the top spot, however there is a certain 86 year old in Providence, LM, that holds an incredible amount of sway over everything that happens in this neck of the woods.

Matty G, aside from LM, plays a big role from the RI side and I suspect he delivers the messages of LM when he is free. Spagnolo has beefs with everyone and lost his skippers cap when he got sentenced to prison a few years ago for some minor stuff.

Furio thanks for all of your posts over the years. I have always enjoyed them.

Winter Hill gang is long gone however there are some serious Irish crews in Charlestown, Somerville and to a lesser extent Southie.

Being white Irish from Boston is a badge of honor in the feds.

Re: Welcome to Gangland Boston - 01/17/21 03:51 PM

one of the previous post refs luigi manocchio the former BOSS of the patriarca family still holding sway over parts of the org.
i wonder what role a former boss has in a family after he has been replaced(not a common occurence i know).
i was just reading an article about paul sciacca onetime boss of the bonannos and saw that he died in 1986.sciacca stepped down as boss in 1971 i think did some jail time but doesn't appear he served in any role in the 80's but soldier.
manocchio was to dog for over a decade and seems odd he wouldn't still command respect and a kick up from someone.

what kind of allies do the boston/providence mafia groups have w/ other OC groups in the area. do they work w/ latin drug gangs or outlaw MCs who r the connections if any?

Furio, Richard B has a square job since he came home, not involved anymore. Vito DeLuca is in Sicily as far as I know. Pasquale died about ten years ago. Billy blackjack is retired, not involved, spends a lot of time in Florida. Ran into him at Tony colonials a few years back, haven't seen him since. And if Joe Ruggiero is a captain then this thing is way past being over

Re: Welcome to Gangland Boston - 01/19/21 04:13 AM

Furio, in addition to Patsy Galea, Frank Imbruglia and Joe Black Lamattina have gone to the great Social Club in the sky.

Paul Weadick is doing life for taking part in the Steven DiSarro murder.

Biagio DiGiacomo is no longer involved. In the restaraunt biz.

I think that I read here that Darin Bufalino is not involved either after getting out of prison. Must have been brutal for him to hear that his pal Rossetti was a rat.

Totally agree. Richard isn't even a confirmed made guy. I heard he was proposed but turned it down. Billy is in Southern Rhode island and is def retired. And Joe Ruggiero is like beating a dead horse on this thread.

There are far more made guys than people know about, I'm saying between 50-60. The old man was in charge for a long time and made 2-3 guys each year and Limone made some more guys that were close to him. Plus now the brothers need guys around and loyal to them. People that think there are only 20-30 made guys are crazy. There's at least 6 Capos and the administration

At the the Patriarca sr time the family had 100 made men but now is likely 30-40 made men and the same number of associates. There are no profs of 6 regimes.

BostonAttorney , if that was really directed at Biggie I’m just gonna tell it to you straight - Biggie is by far not an internet tough guy by any means and is extremely credible.

In my personal opinion I’d say 40-60 made guys majority being old men. The young kids are junkies n hustling kids for sneakers and mid grade weed so I’d say the family ain’t going anywhere profitable anytime soon. Couple of guys I use to see at the golf course by my house are supposedly patched in but I’ve never seen the names mentioned on here anywhere so I think even with today’s internet society there still sleepers out there that move in silence. Lot of frauds, lot of guys running around like they got their finger pricked but have 0 credentials. Plus you have other organized crime from Spanish to Russian to Chinese and 200 independent hustlers n drug dealers from every different race walking the streets and nobody is kicking up any money to anybody else it’s a free for all. There’s kids out in the suburbs with 100k sports books that don’t even kick up 1$. Family def in its rebuilding and restructuring era cuz I think they sit in rooms n hammer parking meters for quarters the majority of them.

Yes but its also important how many associates have the family,a veteran mobsters can have a good crew of associates and made more cash,in this time is better to made only trusted people.

Anybody read the book Wiretap ??

Just finished that...Was amazed how Gennaro Angiulo spoke to his son, nephew and brothers lol...Even if they're screw ups, you want them to be loyal to ya right ??

Talking to them like they're dirt every day ??

Big mouth...He was Gotti before Gotti, except he said it to their faces !!

The thing I'm curious about is the "Russian mob" activity in Boston. If you believe the random internet posts there's a Russian mob active in basically every city, but there's never really any actual news on them. Except for New York every now and then, there's no busts (however small)...nothing. Kinda makes me wonder whether they're just rather small or if they're really just such smart gangsters that they don't get caught.

I don’t think there’s any Russian mob in Boston considering there isn’t a big Russian population like there is Italian and Irish. It would make sense there is in New York becaouse there’s a large Russian population there

They had a pretty big hand in hard drugs n night club drugs. Few of the more powerful Russian family’s that had hands in the theater district n what was left of the combat zone stayed profitable when oc80s n 30s were flowing heavy. As said above the boss family’s were in New York handling the big packs n sending them to relatives in Boston to distribute in 100 n 1000 packs. They combed weird places like marina bay in Quincy n the Water club when the Molly rush hit in like 2010-2012 n I’m sure they linger in the city but no way as profitable as they once were. They really like nightclubs that’s where I saw most Russian organized crime. Some of the small promoters n social nightlife groups were moonlighting for Albanian n Russian oc.

Makes sense. Russian OC in Western cities tends to operate from nightclubs especially. Seems like in general Russian OC had its time to shine in the 90's and early 2000's.
Obviously I can't speak on Boston, but "Russian OC" over here were mostly Jewish guys from Ukraine and Georgia. They're still around over here as well, but very much under the radar and small scale compared to what it was like in the 90's.

The Patriarca crime family
(Jan.1 2021-

BOSS
CARMEN DINUNZIO

boston
Anthony Dinunzio (capo)-brother of Carmen.
soldiers
Louis DiNunzio (son)

Gregory Costa (capo)
soldiers
John Scarpelli
Salvatore Marino

Anthony Spagnolo (capo)
soldiers
Pryce Quintina

soldiers (boston-unknown crew affiliation)
Vincent Ferrara (possible capo or overall boss???)
Robert Carozza
Frederick Simone
Vincent Gioacchini

UNDERBOSS
MATTHEW GUGLIELMETTI (based in Providence)

providence
Edward Lato (capo)

consigliere
Anthony Parillo

Luigi Manocchio (soldier/senior advisor)

*now i know from reading this thread over the last couple days that i am going to catch heat for this but am only posting to try to gauge the true strength of the family not simply list every member/associate i can find on various websites/forums. i know very little about the mafia in new england but have always found it one of the most interesting of families. 16 members on this list/chart. the patriarca family also appears to be well connected into other mafia families along the east coast.

Connie Frizzi Jr. died young in 2011.

Anthony Della Russo would be 118 years old today.

Patsy Barone, I'm pretty sure isn't active, been off the radar since his release.

Rossetti was supposed to spill the beans on all the 90 mob war hits but that never appeared to come to fruition. Probably because he was responsible for a lot of them.

Had not seen or heard that he was out, any proof of that? It seems like it would be big news. I'm sure he could be very near Boston without fear of retribution. Those guys don't need that heat in today's world

5 Captains and 5 Crews that is a decent size family these days.

The same size as the Colombo, Luchese and Bonanno families from N.Y.C.

The same as Detroit and Philly...

The same size as Chicago
