Does anyone think that uncle Joe has more respect from the guys on the street than skinny Joe?

More respect of course. He saved that family. But people fear joey so they have his brasciole in their mouths 90% of the time. I put my last dollar that the guys on the street want uncle joe as boss if they had a choice.

Uncle Joe is not a logical boss, the guy is I his 80's, Joey bought him out of retirement, I say if Joey goes away then uncle Joe will step down

Joey has a much larger following than Uncle Joe. Joey has all these young up-and-comers and kids looking up to him and wanting to do anything for him. Even older guys in their 40s/50s/60s are like that with Joey Merlino. Uncle Joe has respect across the board from everyone though. I'm guessing the Scarfo guys and other guys that are out on the street respect Uncle Joe's leadership capabilities more than Joey though and as a result he's probably a better street boss/acting boss especially given the current state of Philly and the Family with everyone who is out on the streets and all that.

Joey was the reason because the philly family was ion the 1990s more similar to a street gang that a mafia family;Uncle Joe is old school: make money not spotlights, murder as last choice ecc he rebuilted the ties with NY and made new members.
I think that Joey is feared while Uncle Joe is respected and be a street boss of a family for much time and be free is rare in this times.

Sure I read years ago that skinny Joe was not interested in cosa nostra and the traditions such as making guys etc. He was just interested in making money and his reputation.
