Surprised he never met his grandfather. Seems like the whole gotti family would take a bus to the prison. This guy must be 25. Im sure dana white could pimp his name out.

When his MMA days are over, maybe uncle Gene will hire him to crack some heads. lol

shit him being 25 means nothing. UFC is a joke these days. they peddled that old, flabby, non-athlete pro rassler CM Punk just for a quick ppv cash in, meanwhile cutting one of the best fighters in the world in Rory MacDonald, as well as several top guys....watch for this gotti guy to be in a title eliminator bout soon.

Oh shit, that's Junior's son? I thought he was the son of one of the other siblings..

He's about the same age as me, how come he never met John in prison? Don't they allow kids?

Fighting on his grandfather's birthday? What next, he'll get Gambino emblazoned on his shorts?

Says a lot about how persona non grata the Gotti family is that this kid is forced to fight for a living rather than do what he was born to do and sling drugs and open sports books.

I FEEL your frustration but this Gotti guys only way to a title bout is through hard work, dedication and, talent. Hopefully he doesn't cross the USADA line like his uncle did.

CM Punk was already a huge name in his WWE career. Punk fought an unnamed guy/kid in Mickey Gall 2-0 before Punk.

I believe the UFC is trying to appeal to the casuals and hardcore fans at the same time with some of the circus main events.

Hopefully he doesnt enter the octagon with the theme song from the godfather.
I wonder if chuck zito will try to weasle his way into gotti's corner. Zito is notorious for that.

I could see them giving the gotti kid a title eliminator without building up a pro resume. Why not? His family is a good enough promotion tool by itself for these clowns.

The UFC aren't doing anything or appealing to anyone, it's owned & operated now a an entertainment company with zero knowledge of sport promotion, panicking & trying to salvage a bunk investment. These Pride/Jap style freakshow bouts don't appeal to anyone. They are not bringing in viewership, that's a myth. Ppv numbers were at an all time low this year, and it's directly related to fights not being booked 100% according to rankings, like a real sport. Not only are they not attracting casuals, but they are alienating hardcore combat sport fans. Combine that with this USADA debacle (seriously, professional athletics can't exist without PEDs, it's the backbone of pro sports) & not resigning highly ranked fighters, and things aren't looking good for the UFC.

UFC was at its peak when Brock lesnar and Kimbo were at the company in 2009.That tells you alot

The golden days are over but they still do some big ppv buys when Conor fights

But other than that, Jon Jones is gone. Gsp was a big draw back in days granted he’s coming back now. Ronda is gone.

"What they don’t see? Countless hours spent in the gym. Lifting weights and doing cardio for hours on end, multiple times a day."

Are you talking about John Gotti II or John Gotti III?

John Gotti III is 5'11" 170lbs..... That doesn't equal countless hours lifting weights.

John Gotti II, different story...was probably same height but 240lbs.

Hes at an advantage in that world because his family has enough money so he doesn't have to work so he can train all day.Guys who just start out as pro in the mma world make a few 100 per fight and have to have daytime job.

The guy cuts a lot of weight so he weighs in at 170 but weighs a lot more on fight day, at least 185-ish. He's still very muscular but was a lot bigger in his amateur days but because he has to make that weight he shed a lot of bulk. It's not very smart to fight at heavyweight when you are 5'10 or 5'11, the only exception is Mark Hunt but he's Samoan so what is a fella gonna do? LOL

Kimbo never fought in the UFC.

He actually did Dix, be it very briefly. His UFC record was 1-1. He won a very lackluster fight against Houston Alexander via UD and lost his final UFC fight against Matt Mitrione by KO.

That's right, they gave him a chance even after he sucked it up in the TUF. Forgot about that.

From what I've heard from people who follow it closely MMA has lost a lot of its popularity the last few years.

When these guys enter the octagon for a fight, they always enter with some music. What i think this gotti kid should do is play the fbi wiretap of johnn gotti saying, “ me, john gotti, will sever your mother fuckin head”..
They should keep playing it over and over until he reaches the octagon rather than play a song.
