Thanks oc, ive been following this movie like daily i cant fuckin wait. Anyone seem picsxof Harvey Keitel as Angelo bruno or Jack Huston as Tony Pro( i think that’s who he was cast to play but don’t quote me on that)?

Idc that Pacino doesn’t really look like Hoffa and that Deniro doesnt have the physically imposing stature that Frank Sheeran had, Scorsese is the bestcmost consistent director imo and anything he does i see and love this will be terrific!

Side note but ive seen some articles saying that they Sheerans claims may becin doubt simply bc the house this senile old man at the time tookcthem to didnt turn up Hoffas dna to me is absurd. If u read the book which imo is the best mob book outside of Five Families, ull see how Charles brandt the author and former prosecutor did a phenomenal job to corroborate and verify to the best he could all of Sheerans claims. I totally believe everything he wrote including the Joey gallo hit. He interviews an eye witness who is now a journalist who themself and has impeccable credentials and she id’d Sheeran as the shooter. That to me is way more believable than those idiot columbo nobodies that claimed responsibility that they just saw him and happened to whack him. Fuck that noise... everyone said it was one shooter and imo it was sheeran. But just my opinion as an attorney based on the evidence

The actor, Jerry Orbach, supposedly saw who done it but refused to tell police out of some misguided loyalty to mobbed up friends.

I can't understand how he didn't get arrested for withholding testimony.

The guy who played Capone in Boardwalk Empire plays Tony Pro.

America is a pretty big country. They couldn't find someone more suitable to play him? It's bad enough he's Capone in Boardwalk.

First, I think you're thinking of when Joe Gallo got killed. Second, he wasn't arrested because "withholding testimony" isn't a crime.. Perjury is a crime, but you'd have to be on the stand first.

Sheeran's bio, "I Hear You Paint Houses," is well worth reading.

DeNiro, Pesce, Keitel and Pacino--directed by Scorsese--can't wait!

Pacino looks more like Chin Gigante as opposed to Hoffa lol. Anyway I heard they were digitally altering their faces to make them look younger anyway

Pacino is supposed to be Hoffa?! Never in the million years...

I will still watch it - no matter what

Just because somebody doesn't look like him doesn't automatically screw the part.

Nobody looked like Hoffa except Hoffa

Indeed, Pesci couldn't look more different than Tommy DeSimone for instance.

Re: New on set photos of new Scorsese movie The Irishm - 10/19/17 12:22 AM

If you could handle the disparities in Goodfellas I don't know how you couldn't handle this.

Paul Sorvino was a relatively handsome guy, well groomed and dressed for the role of Paul Cicero. Paul Vario looked like he really did run a cab stand, and nothing else, as opposed to running one as a front for his multi million dollar criminal schemes. Powerful man, but sure as heck didn't look the part.

Tommy De Simone was something like 6 feet tall and in his early 30's when killed. Pesci is like 4 feet tall and was in his 40's when filming GF.

Henry Hill looked like what he was, a drunk and a coke head.
Ray Liotta looks about like your typical a-list actor.

Jimmy Burke looked like a Russian serial killer dropped off in Siberia. He was played by Robert De Niro. And De Niro cleaned up well for the part.

Good grief. It's a Scorsese movie. Grab your popcorn and be glad he did another mob movie, and not another Howard Hughes type yawner. Some people just seem to be predetermined to ruin every simple pleasure presented to them.

Imagine if people in the 70's were like "Marlon Brando as an elderly mobster? Nah. lol"

Brando was 48 when he played Vito Corleone.

Here he is before and after makeup on the Godfather set.

lol. Solid click bait, there.

They're giving a way a ton of spoilers with these on-set pics. Wonder why they're allowing all of the photographers. I know it's based on a true story anyway, but still. I'm to the point to where I'm going to stop clicking these links.

If you have read the book "I heard you paint houses" you can get a good idea of what they are doing. Photos don't necessarily tell the story

They were related could be his cousin, Russell did have many brothers.

Maybe distantly related, but not first cousins. I read the book and many articles and all stated that Bill was not related to Russell, but it wouldn't be the first time an error gets continuously repeated..

It's the Daily Mail. They couldn't care less about the background of the Bufalinos. They're just trying to give a quick description of Scorsese's new movie to their readers.

Re: New on set photos of new Scorsese movie The Irishm - 10/24/17 01:27 AM

I'm thinking this is going to be similar to Casino. Lots of old characters. Very authentic looking and sounding mob guys. Ray Ramano's gong to be great as Bill Bufalino. Scorsese has a history of getting good performances from comedians. Don Rickles in Casino. Dick Smothers as the Harry Reid knock off. Even Pesci and Frank Vincent were comedians at one time.

"Rumor has it that Leonardo DiCaprio will cameo in three scenes as Robert F. Kennedy, who was Attorney General during key times throughout the story."

I'm not telling you to read the book before you watch the movie. I'm simply saying that you wont get a ton of spoilers just by seeing pictures of some filming

Re: New on set photos of new Scorsese movie The Irishm - 10/25/17 12:54 PM

I agree and we have to wait until 2019, so I like the on set photos. I want to see one of Keitel as Angelo Bruno.
Posted By: OakAsFan

Re: New on set photos of new Scorsese movie The Irishm - 10/26/17 01:13 AM

Well, obviously they haven't filmed Keitel's scenes yet, because you know when they do, there'll be a hundred photos leaked...

I wonder if they're doing this so that you can just scroll the photos really fast and watch the movie for free. This is the new way of pirating. Leak every single frame of the movie...
