Re: RIP Frank Vincent - 09/13/17 08:58 PM

Yeah, i saw that. He had a heart attack and then had to undergo heart surgery where he died during the operation.
He died with a full head of hair..lol
This shit is sad because i had a few people close to me pass recently and this is just another reminder that our christmas table will be that much smaller this year.

Oh no! I was just talking about him these days with some friends... wow, he really was a good mob movie actor, yeah he's been in so many of them, that's true. 78, and he looked so much younger.. he wrote a book too, which seemed good. RIP.

Re: RIP Frank Vincent - 09/13/17 11:20 PM

May he rest in peace.

Anyone remember this being posted years ago...?

"Tell me about your relationship with actor Frank Vincent.

I met Frankie Vincent when I had the bar in the Holiday Inn. Nicky O and I shook the joint down for a piece in the early 80's. Frank was selling advertising in a TV magazine. We hit it off. He was shocked at my knowledge of film and just in general. I was heavy in the coke business at the time and he became one of my dealers. Soon we were the best of friends. My wife and mother used to send him food every day because he was always broke. Anyway when I came home from the can in 87 I hooked him up with Ron Castellano so he could continue in the coke business. I was done with it by then. Frank was with me every day, I was buying cars and making him earn. I was also in the limo business so I hooked him up with cars when he needed them.

When I moved into Asbury Park to set up my deal at the Empress Hotel I bought Frank in. We started a corporation called "Frank Vincent’s Hollywood East’". I had him on the payroll for a g-note a week. I sold my interest in the lounge to Joe Lucarelli and he never opened the place as Frank Vincent’s Hollywood East. Lucarelli is another story.

Frank is godfather to my daughter. He had it made with me, but he fucked up and it got him hurt. I was beefing with Ron Castellano because he was trying to shake a friend of mine down. Frankie sided with Ronnie behind my back. Ronnie went to my mother’s house trying to find me. He caused a little commotion and the next night I told Ronnie to meet me on Blf. (Bloomfield) Ave by Ting-A-Lings. It was the Tuesday before Thanksgiving 1990. When
Ronnie gets there he jumped out the car like an asshole, I had a .32 and he shit his pants. How he lived I don't know. As he drove off I blew every window out of the car. I caught him in the side of the head but it was only superficial. Ray Goodell, a good friend of mine was driving the get away car.

Anyway after I try to clip Ronnie he ran to Nicky Olivieri Jr. Nicky Jr. called me and gave me the heads up that Frank Vincent gave Ron my mother’s address. I made Ray drive me to 515 Mount Prospect Ave where he lived in a high rise. I was going to whack him. I made him come downstairs and when he did I threw him on the ground and was about to shoot him when some old lady came out and started screaming and ray dragged me away. I gave Frank a minor tune up before I left. I never talked to him again. I did see him at Juicy Dimodica’s brother’s wake in 1994. The Juice and me were real tight at the time. Frankie told Juice he thought I was still going to whack him. Juice asked me to leave him be."

Re: RIP Frank Vincent - 09/16/17 06:41 AM

He was a gopher for the Genovese family with the Pecora brothers, and the Prisco's according to the Angelo Prisco tape. By the 1970's, he was hanging around Jimmy Ran of the Colombos, this is James Randazzo who was killed in the early 1990's, Vincent attended his funeral, Ran introduced him to a member of ther Persico family who inturn helpped him make contacts with some movie people, but he lacked skills that they were looking for. By the 1980's, he was hanging around with members of the Gambino family crew of Sisca. Frank Vincent did not really start getting the big brakes into show business until he hooked up with Joe Pesci.

Re: RIP Frank Vincent - 09/16/17 06:11 PM

Frank Vincent one of my favorite mob actors. RIP. I never realized he was almost 80 years old.

Btw, are you saying that Frank Vincent was a wiseguy or an associate in a crime family?

If that's true, I never thought he was involved.

Re: RIP Frank Vincent - 09/16/17 06:27 PM

Read my post in the General Discussion forum.

Frank was a major cheapskate.

I just read a little article about his reality show "Pawnfellas" with Vincent Pastore and Gianni Russo. A show that never got off the ground.

It said that the show failed because two of the actors (who shall remain nameless) wanted more money at the last minute. Geeze, I wonder who that could have been???

The greatest thing to ever happen to that guy was "go get your fuckin shine box"

Its an iconic line that will go down in movie history. He was very lucky to have gotten that line. He wanted Pesci's part but Martin said "no, you should really play Billy Batts".

Its almost like "Frankly Scarlett, I don't give a damn" or "you dirty rat". 100 years from now those lines will be remembered.

Also..."How the fuck I'm I funny"

A lot of actors live vicariously through them and almost seem intoxicated, or turned on, by their danger and power.

It's almost a lure to them.

They're probably compensating for something.

Pacino, De Niro, Caan, Vincent and Pesci have all hung out with them.

Jimmy Breslin loved drinking with them.

It's perverse but it's like how some women get turned on by being with bad boys if you want to equate it to a sexual thing.

Here's a fun drinking game to play the next time you read The Last Gangster or The Goodfella Tapes.

Every time George Anastasia says a mobster is "handsome" drink a shot.

You'll be hammered in no time.

Wonder if he'll tell God to go get his shine box!

he was actually 80, not 78. he lied about his age to avoid age discrimination in hollywood or some bullshit. he was born in 1937. this has been confirmed by his family.

Bro...he's dead. Ever heard about not speaking ill of the dead? Don't call a dead guy a cheapskate.

Re: RIP Frank Vincent - 09/20/17 05:06 AM

Dead or not I had personal interaction with the guy.
The fact is that he was a cheapskate.
I was around the guy more than a half a dozen times. He sat it several times with a band I was working with.

What did you do? Ask him for an autograph? Big deal....

Listen "Ryan" don't tell me what I can and cannot say.

I have never heard of Pacino hanging out with with the exception of when he met Tom Eboli's brother while filming The Godfather. I don' think De Niro really hangs out with them, or that any of those you mentioned are compensating for anything, and saying it is a sexual thing is very bizarre. You truly need to get off you high horse and stop witch hunting.

Re: RIP Frank Vincent - 09/20/17 12:40 PM

Vincent and Pesci grew up around them or near them so they knew them. I don't think Pacino and Deniro really hung out with them. Both of them are more arty, bohemian types. Caan is from the Bronx so maybe he knew them growing up, not sure.

He used to live in a Nutley NJ townhouse off rt 21. Maybe he still lived there but he was known as a pretty cheap tipper, always getting Italian dishes delivered late at night . I haven't heard anything bad about him , have seen him around town

Re: RIP Frank Vincent - 09/20/17 04:16 PM

I think Caan has a connection with Andy "Mush" Russo and heard that Russo was godfather to his kid (or vice versa).
