What "incident", situational or otherwise would you like to see a movie about...
I would like to see a movie about the Carmine Galante hit or the third colombo war movie or possibly any of the before mentioned situations in a movie plot somehow.
Like I said before, the best thing would be a Mob Anthology series on HBO or Netflix. Where every episode has a different story and lasts 90 minutes or so. Episode 1 for example could be about the first Colombo war, episode 2 about the Pizza Connection and episode 3 about the rise and fall of Joey Massino. Every episode is a story by itself and has a definitive ending, which keeps it interesting. This way you can also present a lot of the more unknown stories, instead of rehashing the Gotti story or the Donnie Brasco case for the umpteenth time. A season would have 13 episodes, which would basically be 13 movies.
If they'd put great writers like David Chase, George Pelecanos or Vince Gilligan on it and a cast of superb character actors, a thing like this would be a smash hit because everybody loves a good Mob story. Personally I'd be the most interested in a story about Carlos Marcello.
I think a tv show about all of the five families from 1945 until 1963 would be absolutely epic. I don't know how it would all be brought together but just think about all of the things that happened during that period.
1945 Vito Genovese sent back to US from Italy faces murder charges (2 witnesses killed)
1946 Lucky Luciano freed from prison but deported 1946 Havanna Conference
1952 Frank Costello Kefauver Hearings testimony 1952 Arnold Shuster killed on orders of Albert Anastasia
1957 Frank Costello murder attempt 1957 Frank Scalise killed 1957 Albert Anastasia killed 1957 Grand Hotel des palmes mafia summit Joe Bonanno in attendance 1957 Apalachin Meeting
1959 Vito Genovese sent to prison 1959 Anthony Carfano and Janice Drake Killed
1962 Lucky Luciano and Joe Profaci dies 1962 Anthony 'Tony Bender' Strollo killed
1963 Profaci-Gallo War 1963 Valachi testimony
There would be lots of storylines in that show for sure.

Yeah, a series would be cool. Sort of like the nat geo doc series from a few years ago but more in detail and more obscure information but also if it was like a sopranos like thing.
I agree the Gotti and Donnie Brasco stories are getting old. I mean how much more can you tell about those stories. I was happy to see the mafia greatest hits series cover different people like galante, genovese and allen dorfman. The pizza connection and the colombo wars would be great topics. How about covering the 1929, 1946 and 1957 mafia conferences. What about covering a few more chicago guys like paul ricca, murray humphries, joey auippa n jackie cerone. Tony salerno, carlo gambino would be good mobsters to cover. Even some new school gangsters would be a good addition
I know he is, just don't see the big deal in mentioning dead mobsters on the internet. That's cool you knew him, what was he like?
Dead mobsters are often discussed on the internet. Let alone by anyone who actually spent personal time with actual bosses. Obviously no big deal for you. So why care with what he was like?
That being said: Michael was all about the "Benjmains". Very intelligent, very good looking, always well dressed even for weeks at a time at a hunting camp. Also quite a ladies man.
Unlike Jo Jo, Charlie and Zebo, it took Michael several years before he really warmed up to me. Later I met Chuckie Porter thru him.
I would like to see a fiction one, about a boss of one of the five families and how he interact with the other families in ny and around the us, and does busniess with them, and the problems in his own family, on his other own family - his wife and childrens.

LOL That's the plot of the Sopranos, only Tony would be the boss of a NY family instead of a NJ one.
I would love to see a documentary series based on the book Five Families, including new rat interviews, and rarely seen footage and pics. One hour for each family.

I know but this time a ny boss, and without a psychiatrist

They should've done a black comedy back in the 90's or early 2000's about the Scarfo/Riccobene war, with Joe Pesci as Nicky Scarfo and Danny DeVito as Harry Riccobene. Could've been pure gold if it had a good script and a good director. Guy Ritchie would've been a good choice to do both..
I always thought Vito Rizzuto would be good (I hear there's a movie being made now). How he rose up, went to jail, and came back and took care of all of those individuals that hurt his family would be interesting. I also read somewhere that he didn't necessarily die of natural causes but was poisoned (which, if true, makes the conflict in Canada even more interesting), but that's just speculation I think so far.
