After the embargo will end and Cuba will have a transition from a socialist country to a capitalist country, the mob could return on the island ?

For sure the new authorities will work hard on tourism, especially from the US. I don't mean that the casinos will return as in the Batista era but certainly the Cuban laws are not similar to the US or Italian laws and there will be much more corruption between police and politicians.

The Lansky family is trying to re-have the hotels and who knows.

Chicago, Lucchese, Bonanno and New Jersey all have a soldier in Cuba. Genevese, Gambino, Tampa all have retired associates in Cuba. Come to think of it, I believe both Jimmy of the Lucchese and Paulo of the Bonanno/Montreal are retired. Vito Rizzuto had a meeting in San Jose, Cuba, but it was over the Dominican Republic interests and possible the casino in Haiti.

You mean the casino? It was in the D.R. But I would imagine he might have had business there, as he had some high level meetings there that resulted with the deaths of Joe Bravo and Moreno Gallo.

In what world do people think the American mafia is patiently waiting on a return to Cuba? Why would they even return, what was once practical in the 1950s-60s is far from common practice.

Every family has several vested interests in off shore casino's & wire rooms elsewhere, there is no grand plan to take Cuba back over on any level.

Costa Rica and The D.R. seem to be where a lot of the wire room/gambling related busts lead back to, while I will admit they could theoretically make a push back to Cuba, I fail to see a point in doing so, or a reason why.

Consider how long it's been... They guys who would have been anticipating any return have nearly all died.

I understand the question was do you see the mob transitioning to back to Cuba, I would answer with a resounding no.

Guys get skeptical of picking up interstate charges, I doubt there are people who want to go set up in Cuba to be ID'ed and picked up within what we all know to be a traditionally short window of time on the street.

Yes, Montreal police even tried to infiltrate his meetings there with the complicity of the communist regime.
