Mafia Beef: Carmine Galante vs Aniello Dellacroce

I have another one for you all. What caused the hatred between these two powerful underbosses? Was it over drugs?

Or was it just a continuation of the "beefs" from their two bosses?

They had a beef? I've never heard that. Supposedly after the Galante hit, the hitmen congregrated at the Ravenite Social Club and were seen with Dellacroce but I don't know if the two men ever had any real "beefs" with each other.

Anyone else ever hear of this?

In the book Manhattan Mafia Guide: Hits, Homes & Headquarters by Eric Ferrara, Ferrara says an old timer told him Dellacroce and Genovese Capo Pete Defeo hated each other and had to be stopped from fighting at a casino in Vegas but says he wouldn't get into more since it was unsubstantiated.

I had never heard they had beef. But then again a lot of people were upset with galante for not sharing in the drugs profit so it is very plausible

What I heard was that Carmine Galante was stepping on many toes in New York, New Jersey, and Florida, among them where those that supported Albert Anastasia faction, allegedly Carmine got into some sort of argument with Tony Anastasia, Tommy Rava, and a unidentified Genovese Capo at a club in Brooklyn right before Carmine went to Canada, Dellacroce was the driver for the three men that night. Bill only makes one reference to this in that he was in Arizona at the time this had happened and Joe was furious with Carmine, but never said his last name, only that Joe had a solution and someone with his capabilities was suited up north.

I thought i read that it involved galante's drug profits. I kno he killed a number of gambino dealers n burned down their pizza joints. Galante also hated Gambino n Costello. Said he would make gambino "shit in the middle of times square" while he was on federal vaction at l lewisburg. Hated costello bc he got hom n vito n chin on that drug charge in 59
