If Merlino goes away, is there a chance Borgesi is made acting boss? Lance might prefer that where he can keep a lower profile.

if this guy's moves are so well known then the feds can't be far behind... he's begging for an indictment

I don't think he cares. First thing he did when he got out was opening that social club. Mayo face even visited.... You're probably right though.

Re: Borgesi Making Moves - 03/28/17 10:18 PM

I don't doubt your odds serp but I'll bet heavy on these 2 things..1. He didn't Meet matty, for lunch , dinner or fuckin church, never met him 2. Maybe he met the other 2, but it's not part of a making move plan.

It's not inconceivable he has business to discuss with Matty G. He was in charge of the Boston crew back in the day. Is Vetere back on the streets?

Would guess the guy matty is still on parole so if he did hed be back in. Must be hard anuff just going around rhode island without hanging wit known felons get yoy jammed. Up. The guy who wrote this said hes tue underboss a few months back. Who really knows.

Re: Borgesi Making Moves - 03/29/17 04:10 AM

If he did in fact meet with Matty Gugs it was b/c the remainder of that Boston Luisi crew that Merlino initiated in the late 90s is still operating in New England for the Philly Family. Those guys got hooked up with the Philly Family through Borgesi in the first place. I know Borgesi was spotted meeting with Shawn Vetere at least once since his release from prison. I'd bet that Vetere is the new Capo of that Philly-Boston Crew now that Luisi is out of the picture. So I'd bet that is the reason he's meeting with Matty Gugs since he's the UnderBoss of the Patriarca Family. He probably has some sort of agreement with the Patriarca's where they give the Patriarca's some sort of cut of their action for operating in Patriarca territory under the auspices of the Philly Family as well as making sure they're all on the same page so there's no interference or clashing between the Philly Crew and the Pariarca guys operating up there. Just my guess though for what it's worth.

Re: Borgesi Making Moves - 03/29/17 11:17 AM

I wouldn't doubt this report. Borgesi wants this and I think guys like Chang and Lance are content to let Borgesi stay calm while they still earn more quietly. Borgesi is ambitious and also has a pretty good amount of guys around him that are more under the radar and his brother is a very likable guy so I can imagine using him as a go between makes things easier on everyone.

Re: Borgesi Making Moves - 03/29/17 12:09 PM

nothing is inconceivable..that is correct...regarding the boston guys getting hooked up through george in the 90s..incorrect..and this isnt just me talking, you can see luisi's 302 if you want, they met through a guy from boston who did time with joey, not george, george met them through that process after....now, you can choose to believe me or not..he did not meet matty....and vetere couldnt captain a pop warner football team....and im fond of shawn and i say that....but ill say this PHL, that theory does sound very plausible..im just saying, he didnt meet matty, thats all

So in effect, do merlino have a 2 or 3 acting boss system going? From the outside looking in it doesn't like their hierarchy is traditional

Is there an hierarchy with Merlino and his pals? Probably just titles to keep everyone happy and making money. I have always thought of Merlino and his buddies as a gang that took over the mob. I don't think any of this stuff matters to Joey. He just wants money.

Mob soldier: I want to be a capo. Here is $250,000 in cash Joey!
Joey Merlino: Wow! Congrats you are the captain of a brand new crew. It's you and nobody else. Congratulations! Now kick up $5,000 a month to me.

ryan..i cant disagree with any of that post haha..pretty much right on

Re: Borgesi Making Moves - 03/31/17 05:01 AM

Philly definitely has a "traditional" mob structure so to speak, the family as a whole. Because you have captains whom aren't very fond of Merlino, but most likely kick up simply to continue operations, but they may use a proxy instead of going straight to Merlino. Then again, guys like Anthony Pung is making so much money legitimately, he doesn't necessarily have to kick up, but he too supposedly runs a crew.

Re: Borgesi Making Moves - 04/03/17 10:58 AM

Sinatra with out a doubt they are kicking up .

I will not go into details but from top to bottom is kicking .

Put it this way if you are running a small book out of a bar or neighborhood and and associate or a made guy gets wind , you are done" or you are kicking.

And if you are done you still will pay a large amount just to keep your face on straight .

Now days it is most likely it would be a associate that would find out first and get the go ahead to tax you .

But but back in the 90's I seen skippers taxing small books .
