New Members approval from other families

Today, In 2017 the Myth that other families need to approve new members, Or, Potential Inductees is just that , A MYTH ! There is no way in hell that the Westside passes around a list, Even makes a list, or let alone ever tell any single member of the other 4 families who they plan to induct or even let them know names ! Many Genovese members are unknown until they are outted/Identified. The Bonannos have been making people under the table for years now, and lots of them !

Is this a question or a statement?

Although it sounds very reasonable and I agree that 2017 LCN Families need to adapt to the times. Still I bet they circulate lists. It makes sense in case someone is an informant or to make sure a candidate isn't an associate with another family.

How accurate the lists are is another thread. Sal Vitale said he made up dead members and got names from the phone book so the Bonanno's could indict more members.

My guess is the circulate lists still but the info may be misleading or shaky.

Wasnt Massino stopped because wanted to induct 10 men in the same ceremony ?
I think that isnt more an approval but a simple notification so the other families top hierarchies know who's who.
I know that there are limits ie any family can replace only the old members and can't induct too men in a same ceremony for don't made a family too strong.

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Renaldi Ruggiero say that the Genovese family only ask members in a certain area of what they think of the guy, and if not a bad thing is said about him in their own family, they then ask the Capos of other families in the area of what they think of the guy. For example Bronx members of their family and Capos from other families in the Bronx would know a guy is being proposed for membership or is made, but guys in Brooklyn would not know about unless they were direct with their bosses or friends with the other families Capos, also they use nicknames so there could be four guys with that nickname in the area and would be hard to pin down who was made, unless someone from that area flips.

How do you know such revealing information?

There's alot of info out there, The Westside most of the time,recently over the last few years many of their arrests and indictments were mostly isolated affairs containing names that were new or somewhat New, ex: One case being Robert Debello , He was a relatively unknown, extremely low key guy with a mostly unknown crew, Sal deligatti, Luigi Sunoco etc...@Giacomo, That was said by try ruggiero ! Every time I'm back in the old shit hole Ozone ok. HB I run into pple by chance and accident, and get to hear all the BS gossip and goings on from someone or another ! I personally cannot see the Westside letting anyone in on anything !! They look down upon everyone else as 2nd and 3rd rate nobodies who aren't near theyre level ! Luccheses are on par with Westside and basically most people operate in loose cells trying very hard to evade detection and they're favorite BIG BULLY, R.I.C.O

Nah, its just as ridiculous as the rest he tends to make. Like seriously, how would you know if families still pass around lists or not? One could make an educated assumption based on circumstantial evidence like the era we're living in, but other than that, with no informant testimony, or law reports stating such information, how would we know, let alone Mr. Just Say No, here? And to say , "I run into people by chance and hear BS & gossip from someone or another", screams "bullshit".

Your absolutely right, I don't know !! I read it through reports from certain individuals/People etc. I should have leaned more towards my opinion.I can't see it happening in this day and she, Currently! I think it would open up the door for informants,Arrests, Indictments etc..And, after all that has went on in the last 25-30 years and the Mob being decimated as it has been U don't see it happening ! I think in the majority of circumstances guys would be absolutely nuts to do that ! With all these guys flipping the way they have, Bosses,Underbosses,Captains,Soldiers In most of the families I still have not seen any of these guys bringing any information that has done damage to the Genovese family.

Its probaly almkst 15 yrs ago. I think 04 they raided quiet dom cirillo house and found a list of names and the dead guys the replace. Maybe it was only for the westside bosses but it was a circular list. I doubt the new england guys ask new york to vouch and after the almost collaspe of the springfield crew why would they trust them. All these made guys or recruits probaly done fed time and now whose ok. The days of joe pistone are gone. I dont belive they were ever gonna induct that fat cuban fbi guy. He had them fooled kicking up money but thats it.

Just look up the recruits on facebook or twitter.

I think that NY families maybe circulate the names only if is necessary. For the other families: decavalcante are under the Gambino fist and maybe same thing for boston and philly.

I don't think they have that big of a ceremony anymore, maybe making 4 guys at once or a cou0le at once. It would be a lot harder for Law Enforcement to figure out who is who, unless there is an informant in the mix.

Seams like a reasonable thread to me just like most of them. All speculation very little facts. I tend to agree, I figure a family made up its mind without passing a list. Decision made over time not a whim. So they know what they're gonna do without a list.

I've worked in places and been very friendly with some that I suspect are either heavy associates, or actually soldiers, one was an acting capo for the Lucchese's for a while. You could google his name and his picture would come right up. He knew this, and the last time I saw him he was still on parole from a 13 year bid, yet all they ever say was "when I was in college"

But they NEVER say anything around outsiders (like me) NEVER. I've seen some of them at the end of the night at the bar just hammered from drinking all night and even if you gently bring up a topic thats in the news, they still say nothing.

They are just built that way. Its like they know that you know, but they never say shit.

Even as a 9 or 10 year old kid in school. There were a few kids who Fathers were "involved" in some way or another, but even at that young age they are trained to say nothing. The kids who would brag "Hey, my dads in the mafia" were always the ones who were full of shit. The real kids would just say "my dads a contactor"...

I think that most of the families know now that if this thing is going to survive its got to go back to being secret. Get rid of the reality shows, facebook, instagram. Secret....
