joe dimaggio, mafia ties?

in my reading of the mob, and looking at pics, I ran across a pic taken in the thirties of joe DiMaggio with "Richie the boot Boiardo" powerful new jersey boss, also in the book "five families" selwyn raab says that on the day of albert Anastasia's murder joe DiMaggio was in a hotel with him and santos trafficane.to what extent was joe DiMaggio's mob ties? anyone??

A lot of celebrities, Italian and not Italian used to take pictures and be around Boot Boiardo, I have knowledge of it going on in the 50's as well. I don't know how he had the connections but he did, in the 50's his son Tony Boy ran a high end club/restaurant type place, I forget the name of it, but he and his son are posing with numerous celebs from pictures from inside the place during the time it was open. I think Sinatra may have even been one of them.

I know Richie "the boot" was one powerful guy. read somewhere he had a creamotorium on his jersey property.

I remember that he was very close friend with Giancana. They used to go on vacation together, there are numreous reports of telephone contacts between the two and every time DiMaggio visited town, Giancana would sent a mile long limo for the sport star. Giancana probably used him, same as Sinatra, as a messenger between the crime boss and political figures like you know who

yeah, I read the book "joe and marylin" and brother did she sleep around.
