Wiseguys that face long sentences in young age

Wiseguys that face long sentences in young age - 10/31/16 08:20 AM

Before cases like peter limone that faced death sentence and after the life without flips are common. Now if a wiseguy or a wannabe should face long sentences (20 to life) flips for dont waste their lives.
But there are cases in the 1990 to today were young wiseguy accepted their fate.

Apart Vincent Basciano and one arm Trucchio I dont know anybody.

You also have to wonder what type of information a guy like Pappa had. Highly doubt he had info on any higher ups. Most of yhe murders he commited were personal type beefs and nothing to do with sanctioned hits. I think one was.
He was basically some wannabe that was used and in my opinion would have been killed.

I disagree Belmont.Pappa whacked orena loyalist capo Joseph Scopo in 1993. The Scopo death ended the orena war. Pappa was a routhless killer and a drug dealer.
He got 4 life plus 45 if he would told to the fed about scopo murder and of the other people killed for the family he would be free.

I believe that Nicodemo pleaded to get 25.

A lot of the Boston guys from the 90's war are still locked up serving 20 to 30 year sentences, Michael Romano Sr., Gigi Portalla amongst others.

I agree. He was a shit, a nobody. He'd have been killed years ago if he wasn't in jail.

He had no access to anyone high level. He got the Scopo orders like, fourth hand.

I remember that Romano Sr. whacked a knockaround guy named Joe Souza in broad daylight in East Boston as he suspected him as the hitman on his sons murder. Ironically, Souza was partnered and linked with David Clark, who murdered the state trooper Mark Charbonnier a couple of nights after the Romano murder.

Mobsters such as 'Dirty Danny' and 'Little Robert' take their punishment like (made) men

MICHAEL DALY
Tuesday, February 8, 2011, 4:00 AM

Mob families are so infested with rats these days it's a wonder there isn't ear-piercing feedback from all the recording devices.

One Colombo captain, Anthony (Big Anthony) Russo, was taped in December pledging to track down a rat and "chop his head off" only to turn into Tiny Tony and start eating cheese the minute he was pinched.

Now, we have a Genovese associate-turned-informant named Joe Barone crying about the FBI dumping him for getting involved in a murder-for-hire case with an NYPD informant.

Rats ratting out rats!

It's almost enough to make you admire the standup guys, if there are any left.

Guys like Daniel (Dirty Danny) Mongelli and Robert (Little Robert) Lino. Both are 44 - relatively young in the real mobster world.

Both were charged with murder after Bonanno underboss Sal Vitale turned rat, just before Bonanno boss Joe Massino turned rat.

Little Robert stood tall even when facing 27 years because he was what his lawyer terms "a true believer." Too bad what he truly believes in is a collection of sociopaths.

Lino kept with tradition and steadfastly refused to admit to being in the Mafia even as he pleaded guilty to being a hit man.

"Nobody ever told me I was a member of the Bonanno family or the Massino family," he told the court in 2004.

Dirty Danny may be unique in not only refusing to turn rat, but actually feeling bad when he pleaded guilty.

"I think he was a guy who was remorseful for what he had done in his past," his lawyer, Gerard Marrone, said Monday. "He wanted to pay his debt to society. He wanted to take his punishment."

Dirty Danny felt what appeared to be true remorse even though the crime had occurred 14 years before and the victim, Louis Tuzzio, was also a killer.

Tuzzio was marked for death because he had recklessly wounded a gangster's son while killing a mob associate.

The circumstances invited Dirty Danny to tell himself he was only doing unto Tuzzio what Tuzzio had done unto others.

Maybe Dirty Danny felt guilty because Tuzzio was a friend and had been lured to his death with the promise of finally becoming a made member.

Maybe it was that Tuzzio had a young daughter. Maybe it was that Dirty Danny had settled down and gotten married and had a daughter by the time he was arrested.

Whatever it was, he did not seek to get out of a 23-year sentence by becoming a rat.

"He didn't point the finger at anybody else," his lawyer said. "He took responsibility for his actions. Which is not something many people do these days in life in general, not to mention the criminal world.

"The buck stopped with Danny."

That sounded better than a good many of our politicians and business leaders.

I was ready to say that Danny deserved a new nickname, maybe "Danny Buck Stops."

I started to think maybe he wasn't such a terrible guy, until someone reminded me that a rat taped him after 9/11 talking about selling steel from the ruins of the World Trade Center.

So, Dirty Danny it remains.

Being standup is only as admirable as where you stand.

Not being a rat does not mean you are also not a louse.

Anthony Nicodemo of Philly is the most recent guy that comes to mind who could have solved a ton of murders if he flipped. The guy also has young children, was making a ton of money, and a hot young wife. You guys should see how good looking she is!

Matty G from Providence served a good stretch in the 90's (for protecting a cocaine shipment) and just got out about 2 years ago. He was fairly young when he went away, I think in his 30's.

Dixie if you reffered to Matthew (Good Looking Matty) Guglielmeti, Jr. I don't find the cocaine shipment case but only a federal racketeering conviction in 1991.And 2 years are too few for the thread.

I dont think that offered a plea to Fusco, Arliotta said that Fusco wanted to kill Bruno in Mass and convinced the genoveses bosses to let him whack Bruno. Was lucky to beat the murders charges not so with the other charges, thats the life.

Yeah Matt Guglielmetti did a lot more than 2 years, but if I recall he got knocked for his latest bid in the 2000's so idk if he qualifies, his bid had to be less than 15 years. Definitely a long stretch, but not like the rest of the guys we're discussing.

For some reason I was thinking he went away for good in the 90's but you are right, it was after the turn of the century after looking it up. It was over 10 years I know but wasn't as long as I initially thought. I should have looked it up first.....lol
