Where did some guys make their bones - 08/23/16 05:05 PM

Joey Merlino - I know his dad had Sal Testa whacked over refusing to marry his daughter, Merlino was 22 at the time but I don't know if he was active

Liborio Bellomo - Guys been around since at least the 80s with not much background

Frank Cali - He's from the old country

Frank Cali is not from the old country, he was born and raised in NYC, his parents though were immigrants and born in Sicily.

Merlino was a runner at the time or as the media liked to say "JV Mafia" at that point. He hung out around Caramandi and Charlie White's clubhouse at Camac and Moore St.

Stanfa made him and Mikey Chang in the early 90s to try to keep the peace.

His pop Chuckie had a spot right across the street & upstairs in this cafe that is now an asian joint of some sort..whole neighborhood changed, but Marra's pizza is still there, where sometimes Crow & crew would hang out.

No that is not correct. I think you are basing it off the of HBO movie Gotti which is fiction. Ralph Galione was never apart of Castellano's crew, he was actually in the bergin crew. Yes Ralph Galione was the shooter but it wanst like it was depicted in the movie. In reality Galione Gotti and Angelo Ruggiero flashed some phony badges and told McBratney to come with them. McBratney knew it was bullshit so he refused. Gotti and Angelo tried to hold Mcbratney down but he was very strong and dragged them both across the bar until Galione could finally shoot him. Yes Galione was later murdered but it wasnt by Gotti or by his order.
